I’ve never considered combining languages to make names, that’s cool! Tho, with my simple brain, if my OC’s had names like that, they’d be forgotten in a heartbeat 😛

Poor Rubin ;-; will be missed.
In Korean, literally everything (almost,) is spelled solely based on the way it sounds. So, thankfully, I don’t encounter too many spelling errors of my own.
Random question, does Russian have any loan-words?BQ? I am unfamiliar with this.
Whoops, I meant college Korean text book. A big…[Read more]

Oof, Korean is hard sometimes. I think I only struggle mostly with pronouncing the vowel sounds accurately… and sentence structure… and formal tones… and… you get the picture. It’s great to learn tho!
Learning is made a lot easier, since I’ve been blessed with a tutor who’s half Korean, and can speak and read it. I was nannying…[Read more] -

@lorelei-writer Ooooh that sounds great! I love the way you’ve set the two characters up to meet and help each other. Now I wanna read the whole story…thanks for sharing the description! 😁

Fantasy sounds right. If it’s more along a realistic trail like Rangers apprentice, I suppose it might be midieval fantasy.(prolly my fave genre)
How you’ve described is pretty much how I construct my book too! Usually when I’m thinking of scenes, I kind of let them roll around in my head for a bit then slap them on some paper.…[Read more]

No worries! Thank you for your input, I always appreciate hearing other people’s advice about this issue, since it is something I struggle with more often than I like. With relatively small short stories, I’m fine with restarting them, since a thousand or so words is not as big of a commitment to me as a novel is. But I…[Read more]

True, villains and antagonists don’t always need to be in a story. I’m usually writing some kind of story where they’re like, far away, so they don’t always show up in the main story (you know, like a Sauron kinda thing), so I always feel like I have to find ways to have them interact with the protagonist. But…I don’t always need…[Read more]

@lydia-s so sorry for the late reply! And thank you so much for your advice, I’ll definitely keep it in mind next time I’m faced with something like this. I ended up trying to rewrite it a couple times and on about the third try, I got something I really liked! So I’ve finished that short story now 😁

@kathleenramm Oh, almost everything. That you had to follow prose conventions taught in school or plot outlines that followed a specific formula, that your character had to go through a very specific and obvious development, that you had to write something that followed all of these things with a reasonable and expected ending…
None of those…[Read more]

@trahia-the-minstrel I decided to move over here because I didn’t want to take up too much space on your introduction topic. You can tag other people for this topic…you know what? @elfwing You were also interested in my dragons, so I’ll tag you too.
So, basically, here I’m going to tell you about the Dragonmen–my [usually Star Wars-derived]…[Read more]

Yes! How to Train Your Dragon and Wings of Fire are great!! And yes to Omega and Hunter’s “serious big brother-hilarious little sis” relationship. Just yes. Honestly, it’s cute (although Hunter would definitely hate being called “cute”).
I really wanted Crosshair to re-join the Bad Batch too. If I ever met him in our world, I’m not sure if I’d…[Read more]

And of course! The Stewjon Four-Winged Dragon (That proves how much of a Star Wars freak I am, I even know the name of Obi-Wan’s home planet) is just the coolest dragon ever. (Sorry CloneWings, he definitely tops you guys)

@trahia-the-minstrel YESSSS TECH IS AWESOME! Although my favorite is probably Hunter. Honestly, I like them all. Even Crosshair. I mean, he’s totally evil. But still awesome. I have dragon versions of all of them too.

This guy’s one of my favorite dragons. Why? Because I created his species specifically for him, rather than “adapting” a dragon species from a book or movie. He has four wings, catlike ears (which can do everything real cat ears do), gills on his neck and webbed talons (just because; I couldn’t draw the gills because his neck is obscured). He’s…[Read more]
