EmilySF replied to the topic Favorite Scenes In Our WIPs! in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 2 months ago
This one’s not a complete scene, or a proper one, because it is all dialogue, but I still like it a lot (despite the fact that it is a less than perfect rewrite of the original that I lost due to
shockingtechnology, and is but half the perfection compared to the absolutely satisfactory original).[A little context: Hager is the antagonist of the…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Complex. The more complex the possible. I don’t want to know what’s gonna happen. At least when reading.
Writing…hhh I want to get good at complex storylines.

Hesh
His stomach sickened; his face blanched. This zoo of… living statues reeked of magic. He fixed his gaze on a spiked and scaly creature with glacial eyes. “What is that thing?” He shuddered.
Feather glanced over. “That would be an Icehunter.” she said. “They’re from various worlds in my universe, and c…[Read more]

@hallie-jean @e-m-trepke @power
I’m doing something different today, and putting my two characters’ perspectives separate.
Rinzler
“If it hadn’t been for the rest of this castle being the way it was,” said Rinzler, looking around, “I would’ve thought Kelvin let his boys loose in here.”
He stepped around an icy table and came face to face with…[Read more]

Feather and Rinzler
“You’re right,” said Feather, “this sure isn’t the kitchens. Maybe it’s a primitive refrigerator?”
Then she realized these characters’ worlds probably didn’t have refrigerators.
“Sorry.” she said to their confused looks. “A machine from my world, that keeps food cold so it doesn’t…[Read more]

Hesh
As the mournful howl reverberated through the castle, a chill danced up Hesh’s spine.
“I think this is it.” Feather gestured to a nearby door. “Hesh, Dark Player, can either of you get it open?”
Hesh nodded. “Absolutely.” He retrieved his lock-picking kit from his boot once again and set to work. How man…[Read more]

@power I love your descriptions! Also, it’s Rinzler who has the disks, sorry if you were confused there.
“The oddly dressed ape-thing…” That depiction of Feather made me laugh. I guess he’s never seen humans before?

What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?
Probably the Gospel of St. John, because his is easy to read and I enjoy it, and it is read during important liturgical events, no matter what year it is. (The Mass includes readings from either of the other three Gospels (Matthew, Mark, or Luke) depending on whether the liturgical year is A, B, or…[Read more]

Rinzler and Feather
Rinzler still thought Feather was too trusting, but he went along with the group as they meandered through the hallways.
“Are we really the only ones here?” he asked, looking around. “This castle doesn’t exactly look abandoned.”
“Could be an old World Controller school, like the Sanctuary,”…[Read more]

Hello, my friends! It’s been a minute since I was last on here. I’ve missed you all!
I have a question for any of you who have tried writing platforms similar to Wattpad, for context. I recently finished co-writing a book with my sister and we’re not sure what we want to do with it yet, so we’ve decided to try uploading it to a writing site over…[Read more]

Zoe
Zoe ran, as quick as her feet would carry her, tears streaming from her face. She had done it all wrong and now Corvina hated her! She’d sent her away! Corvina wouldn’t protect her now! Malcolm could get her.
Zoe screamed, panic erasing her tears, clearing her eyes so she no longer ran blindly. Her body shifted as her m…[Read more]

The girl leapt forward and grabbed her hand, not necessarily keeping her from going, but Milla stopped anyway. Perhaps they knew the others well enough to prevent a fight. Though, they had run from the…[Read more]

@koshka, so, yeah… I didn’t really explain that, heh. Bust itself is a place I made up that’s like a world between worlds where visitors come from any point in their story you/I want, and when they leave, everything they experienced is erased completely and they return like they’ve never left.
The Council of Bust is me, quite basically, split…[Read more]

@keilah-h I guess she could be, yeah, if she was from your world! Which would be cool. 🙂 She’s really just Daredevil’s daughter, and so you can understand her powers if you look up his, then extend the radius of her hearing and radar to include the entire world, and not a few city blocks. 🙂

@emily-sf Milla sounds like a hypersense! They’re a species my brother created that are just like humans, but have super-enhanced senses. I don’t think they have radar, but they do have everything else. Also, they aren’t typically blind. But she sounds like she could be one!

“You need food?” Feather asked. “I sorta ran out of rations quite a bit ago, but there’s bound to be a kitchen somewhere.”
“I see you eyeing my discs. Don’t touch them unless you want one to your throat.” Rinzler hissed.

Generally, the way this works is: it’s a castle ( @elishavet-pigyon ‘s) that shifts and twists to be whatever it wants to be, and each person has a character or more and they enter the castle any-how you want, and meet up with the other characters and interact with them, and is a way to explore your character and learn mor…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 yeah, so, basically, she has a built in radar, as well as super-hearing, super-smell, super-taste, and super-sensitive touch (super senses, really). In her universe, she can hear the entirety of Earth without even trying. She sees things in a sort of negative photo way, but without any colors. And, even if her radar is neutralized,…[Read more]
