Hey there! You sound like a fascinating person! I’d love to hear more about your mechanical engineering and your woodworking? What sort of things do you make? I really want to get into leather working but I’ve never tried doing any sort of woodwork. and bookbinding obviously sounds awesome!
Who are some of your favourite authors?

@devestate-lasting
I used Microsoft Word for years. I eventually stopped using it because, turns out, Word doesn’t like 100,000 plus words, which is fair. It’s still a great program and I use it for writing articles, short stories and essays.
For my novels, I now use Scrivener. Like Jenna said, it’s not free but it’s 100% worth the money, and…[Read more]

Absolutely barking mad.
I think that pretty much sums it up??
Lol, but seriously. I think I would say Passionate, Obsessive, and Distractible. I am very passionate and I often use writing as my tool for bringing awareness to things that upset me, or things that make me really happy. I would like to think both my process and my…[Read more]

I’ve got mixed feelings on this and I think a lot of it has to do with different cultures and subcultures. For example, in Australia cursing is very prevalent and especially in my subculture (rural, farmers and dog trainers) it is even more so. Therefore I grew up hearing a lot of swearing (though my parents didn’t swear) and I’m not…[Read more]

@gracie-j Thank you for that rousing welcome!
It’s my little love letter to British mythology (which in turn inspired my article for this month). I’m keeping the main premise under wraps for now, but basically its about two brothers who are living in a fantasy world that was ruled by the Dark Lord for centuries, before he was…[Read more]

A Time to Die wasn’t as good as Fawkes in my opinion, but it was her first published book and she obviously grew a lot. Over all, it wasn’t really my favourite, but I’d still like to read the sequels because I did like Parvin quite a bit.

@seekjustice Good to see you!! Hey, I’ve only read two as well. 😉 How was Time to Die? I would like to read that in the near future.

Hello there! It’s been ages since I’ve seen you!
Shamefully, I’ve only read A Time to Die and Fawkes, I really enjoyed them both, but I still need to read the rest of the trilogy and Romanov!

SeekJustice replied to the topic Which one of your characters would you most likely be friends with and why? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 11 months ago
I would be good friends with most of my main characters I think, though the more like me they are, the less I would get along with them :/ Which may be slightly concerning.
However, I definitely would get along very well with the main character of my current novel though. He’s heavily based on my own brother (who may or may not be…[Read more]

Hello there! I’m Chelsea/SeekJustice, and I’m also twenty, so I guess we can be old together 😛
Ooh, Harry Potter! I only just started reading them (I’m finally up to the Half-Blood Prince) because my mum wouldn’t let me read them when I was younger since she was never a fan of how dark the last few books were (she was an adult when…[Read more]

Hello there! I’m Chelsea/SeekJustice, one of the writing interns on the site. I hope you’ve enjoyed your time here so far!
I see you like musicals? I also very much like musicals. Not to be basic or anything, but Les Miserables is definitely my favourite.
I love your list of books! During my early teens I was obsessed with Warr…[Read more]

In my current WIP? I can imagine being friends with at least two of my characters… possibly six of them. Maybe more. I can think of at least one I wouldn’t be friends with at all. Their personality does not mesh well with mine.
But two of them for sure. I could be best friends with at least one. 🙂

Hello, thought I’d make a topic to discuss the many books of Nadine Brandes since I know there are a handful of people here who really enjoy her stuff. 😀 I’ve read Fawkes and Romanov so far and I really liked both of them.
The main reason I made this topic was so I could show you guys this song because it makes me think of Romanov every single…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic What do you believe is one of the most important elements of a good story? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years ago
For me it’s character and settings. The character bit is pretty obvious I think, I get invested in the characters and they’re the ones that make me really enjoy the story. But next to that, I really love settings and worlds! It’s an amazing feeling reading a book that really delves into the worldbuilding, whether that be fantasy,…[Read more]

I’m a bit late to the party, but I analysed three pieces altogether, randomly picked from my current WIP and my last WIP. For the two pieces from my current WIP, I got James Joyce (who I’ve never read) and Stephen King (who I’ve also never read, but I’ve seen enough snippets of his to say, yeah fair I guess). and then the snippet from the older…[Read more]

The Prestige is an awesome movie! I really enjoyed it.Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban! It’s such a well made movie and I absolutely loved the book as well. But the movie, which I watched about six weeks ago, broke my eighteen month writers block and I started writing a…[Read more]

@alia It’s setting the chapter/book up to dramatic and mysterious, so I think as long as you follow through on the promise very quickly, it’s all good!
