Trailblazer started the topic Revolutionary War story idea in the forum Historical 2 years, 3 months ago
Ok, I know I already have too many WIP’s, but I had another idea I’ve been working on this week. I’ve been doing a crazy amount of research for this one and haven’t started any writing yet, which is a bit unusual for me because usually I start writing and research what I need to know as I go. (Probably not the best method, but that’s how I roll…[Read more]

I’m trying to write a song for Alpha Grath. This is for after he looses Emmie (if you don’t know who she is, she was the love of his…[Read more]

Uh… idk it’s coming along lol, thanks for asking. I’ve been pretty depressed recently, and I don’t usually write while I’m like that. I’ve been kinda confused, and I’m well aware that my writing is going to be the spitting image of how I’m feeling. So, yeah. I could write my second wip “our last hope” (My go to for when I’m…[Read more]

I hope that goes well for you! I’ve had really veried experiences with critiques, from the real blunt honest/painful to my mom saying she thinks it’s nice. Little bit of both are healthy imo lol XD good luck with your book, oh and congrats on writing so much this year, i haven’t read most of it but I’ve seen your consistent postings 😉-
Thanks!! Yeah, I definitely got writing more after NaNo since I figured out I could write 1-2k words a day. Not that I write that much a day anymore, but I’m much more consistent now XD

How’s your writing coming along?

Aw man, yeah that’s not fun. I’ll pray for you ❤️ But yeah, writing in your head is still progress XD
Aww, I love that so much 😍 And it seems pretty realistic too.
Um, sort of. I’ve been working on the third draft of my first book, which needed serious help. XD Basically, my plan is to have my trilogy as my main project that I’m always working…[Read more]

Oh and I’ve been doing to character development and really focusing on the character aspect of my stories. I think that’s been strengthening my writing as I try to focus on character voice and characters in general more than the plot, if that makes sense. I think beforehand my story was too plot-driven, and now that I’ve been digging into who m…[Read more]

Thanks girl <3
Thank you! You're the second person to tell me it seems realistic, so I'm feeling pretty good about it!
that's so cool! I personally love doing character work, it's so cool to make up people lol. Who are you currently working on?
-
No one in particular atm, but I think I’m gonna work on Adrian next, and then move onto my other side charries. They need some development… it’s pretty bad. XD
-
XD yep just a part of the process

“I know! It’s nice not to constantly live in fear of being captured and experimented on,” she shuddered. “And I can’t remember the last time I had friends like you guys.” she bit her lip. What if they didn’t feel the same way towards her? What if they didn’t consider a friend just yet?

That was a nice little brother scene!
I’m assuming Asher is the oldest, followed by Ev, and then Lukas is the smallest??

We did them as a family read-aloud. That was probably at least seven years ago at this point. (We started to listen to the audiobook during long car rides a year ago, and we got through the first book and the first few chapters of the second, but for some reason, my younger brother was being obstinate about “not liking” them and we had…[Read more]

I remember liking it. In my opinion, the first one is decent, but not great, and each one gets better than the previous one. The last two especially were really good, although I don’t remember too much about them at this point XD.

“No…I completely understand!” Liv’s eyes lit up. Someone understood…finally! Fynn looked at her quizzically. “My family’s been hiding from the government for years…” she shook her head. “The government consists of cloaked men armed with dark magic, pistols, and daggers that also happen to be wacko scientists that run a p…[Read more]

I think that is awesome! I don’t have any theological problems with that. I tend to avoid doing robots and stuff, because I don’t believe that such a creation would have a soul, and I would usually rather avoid writing about those topics. I haven’t thought about how that would extend to a human created in a lab. There’s nothing biological about a…[Read more]

I don’t like to play with sentient and rational robots, honestly those creep me out. The idea of Alpha being originally a a robot made out of flesh came from me just thinking about him. It was really weird, I was talking as Alpha to his best friend Terry and it just spilled out. I was making it up as I went, but it sounded like it was a set piece…[Read more]
That makes sense to me. I think we’re pretty much on the same page.
I haven’t thought about it in depth, but from first glance, I don’t have a problem with it either. I guess it would depend also on how he was created. Did they take human DNA to create him? If that’s the case, then I think he would have a soul just like any other person, because the rest of us are created with human DNA, even though the process of…[Read more]
He was made from mixed DNA, to give him the traits Grathmere wanted. I believe most likely, he was made the weird 3D printer way at first, and developed from there.
He was actually interestingly enough, not made to have any moral compass. He was supposed to be a heartless assassin that did what Grathmere wished. He’d have limited free will, but…[Read more]
I think that’s a really good idea. I don’t find any theological issues with it. Er, I don’t really have any other comments ATM 😅
@rae
I like the idea! I think it makes sense that he would be without breath at first, and I think that God could definitely give him a soul if He chose
Ooh, ok. So I see where your doubts are coming from. Here’s my opinion…
I believe that as soon as a baby is conceived in the womb, he (referring to either gender in this case) is a human being with a soul that is loved by God. Obviously he cannot physically breathe yet because he’s only a few cells. But when he is born, God is ultimately the O…[Read more]

I think this is a fun idea. I don’t think there’s any theological problems. Is this your fantasy, or something else? If the first, then I wouldn’t think theological and scientific problems should be your primary concern, because what you say goes. Even if your more into hard worldbuilding, you can build up a distinct theological system that is…[Read more]
@thearcaneaxiom Yeah, this is in my sci-fi/fantasy Galaxy. Alpha is one of my main charries.
I don’t think this is too weird an idea for a sci-fi universe. It’s basically like God put literal, actual life in a body which was built, not born. Like a machine built out of flesh and bone, it was working, but it wasn’t alive quite yet. I think the way he explains it is a little strange, but that’s an explanation and can be modified a bit.
My only issue is that if his heart was going but not his breathing, he would die pretty quickly, so maybe he was effectively “dead” with neither organ working, and when they tried to “jump-start” him, his heart started but not his lungs, and then when they were confusedly trying to figure it out he started breathing.
That was a weird explanation, sorry….
It makes sense…in fact that was the way I pictured it in my mind, just Alpha sometimes says things weirdly, and leaves out parts.
I believe the term for during but still coming back to life by revival is called “clinically dead”. Not sure if Alpha falls under this or not, though…
Ok, good, it made sense…lol
