This is a very good question.

But I suppose it comes down to what the reader sees is going on and what the character sees–and those don’t have to be the same. In this case, shouldn’t be.

I’m in the middle of rereading Screwtape Letters. One of the letters tells about how that sin has pleasure attached, and how that pleasure actually…[Read more]

Could you maybe say what specifically she’s doing? I might be able to help more with specifics, but if you want to avoid spoilers, that’s alright.

Every sin has an effect on the person sinning and the people around them, whether visible or not. So even if she’s enjoying herself, you can show how it’s eating away at other parts of her…[Read more]

Hi Esther. I actually had something similar to deal with in one of my books as well. Here are the two things I would say to keep in mind that will most likely make the difference.

1. There can be a time where the MC believes a lie as long as it is shown to be a lie by the end of the book. (i.e. There are some rough consequences…[Read more]

I’m glad you got through it with no huge mistakes. Colds always settle in my ears and I get sinus infections. Really bad ones. Colds can be nasty. I’ve never gotten dizzy from one though…… I think? 😄

Praying that it clears up.

@esther-c

praying for you, Esther!

I wish I’d thought of that when my grandma was in the hospital, but it was summer, so we were all barefoot anyway. My siblings and I were riding the elevators up and down. They were the fun kind where you could see out of the window.

@ESTHER-C

YESSS!!!!! This is PERFECT right down to thanksgiving in the hospital hehehehe I am actually so happy you wrote that!

When I saw it in my email, I literally screamed and my dad was like “are you okay?” it was really funny, he was very concerned 😂😂

@esther-c

Lol! Easton… no… don’t promise all that! 😢 You don’t know what’s going to happen!

Willow and Ruby are so cute. 🤣

@theducktator

Aw, I’m sorry! How are you feeling now?

@esther-c I’ll be praying! 🤗

@esther-c

okay! sounds good!

Don’t worry about it, it’s okay <3

@esther-c

Did you find any ideas for this? It’s totally fine if you haven’t looked yet, but I would love to brainstorm this idea some more!

@esther-c

All right, thank you for letting me know where you are at. It’s all right if you aren’t able to help. I understand if you are busy.

@esther-c

Hey, did you see the last message I sent for people who want to be moderators on the new site?

@ellette-giselle @loopylin @whalekeeper @elishavet-pidyon @esther-c (Realized I was confusing the last two of you as one person. Oops! Too many names starting with ‘E’. Esther, did you see the thing about Notion for people who are interested in helping to get this website started/moderating)

I wanted to let you guys know about a girl named Eva…[Read more]

@ellette-giselle @loopylin @esther-c (@whalekeeper, tagging you as well because I have a feeling you want to stay in the loop.)

Thank you to all three of you for volunteering. Seems like we have different strengths among us, which is a good thing and will help us cover different areas of the site.

I don’t think I am going to proceed with making…[Read more]

I’m late to the party here, but I’d suggest maybe looking up blogs by people who travel and write about their experiences in other countries. You’d probably be able to get a peek into the culture of Africa through the eyes of an outsider that way. As Koshka mentioned, African culture can be vastly different depending on which part of…[Read more]

I’ll be writing this evening for a while. Starting at :15. I’m excited to work on Project Shaffer! I was planning on a different project to focus on during the C.S. Lewis Fellowship but I couldn’t focus on it, so I’m switching gears. (Trying to get words in before the challenge starts.) If anyone wants to join, please do! @freed_and_redeemed @koshk…[Read more]
