I dunno. I like that movie a lot, but it never came to mind while I wrote this scene.
These one sentence time skips aren’t bad, I just have a habit of missing them and then getting confused. Bad habit, that. The whole escape happened so fast and I kept missing things that I had no idea why they were suddenly in the mo…

Idk. I’ve already had all my questions about GE answered.
Maybe what his first story idea was? Or what were some of the most impacted books for him growing up?

The Wise Fool is one of my favorites.
Also, that character in the background with more knives than words, that is the first to react to a threat, but the least likely to comment on it. Mikhail Gregovsky from A Light in Zion fit this to a pin. Natan Israeli in Brother Enemy is similar, if more snarky. Smalls from Green Ember is kinda like this to…[Read more]

Yes! Agreed.
At least Martin made the right choice. I would argue his death scene was the most frightening one I’ve written.

Oh really? I love them. It’s so fun to start tying them together in subtle ways.
In the first one, all three end up frequenting the same cafe at different times, and only a few readers pick that up because I never state the name, but I describe the surroundings the same. Things like that.
One of the MC’s works with another…[Read more]

Ooo! Cool!
I did one with the first book in the series and I’ve decided to keep going with it thought the whole trilogy.

Nope, he’s an MC. But it’s a three-way POV, so there are two other MCs.
He’s also an interesting character because of his job…. so he has that going for him.

My older sister is a graduate student there, so yes, but no, my twin is going somewhere else.

I know poor Aelic. This is my fourth time though that scene as a draft, (read it several times just for fun) and it still gets me. Ugh.
(I’m wondering what’s happening to Aiden now that Martin believed and died too. It would have been tough to see his brother and his cousin killed like that.)
I know!!! The poor kid! 😱
Guess we’…[Read more]

It’s close enough to commute, about 40 minutes one way (so not amazing, but not bad).

no, not really! I like her ideas. I have written quiet moody characters, but I don’t know if they’re quite like this.
I have a current moody character, but he’s not super likeable. (except that he happens to be all my reader’s favorite) he’s doing the right thing, but he kinda hates the world. (and has good reason to) But then he…[Read more]
