Otterpops!?
I think I liked Poncho Punch best, but it’s been a while. They don’t sell them where we live.
(Really hopes I caught that reference right. XD)

Well, you actually might have responded before, so I’m the one who’s late. XD sorry.
1. Yeah, same for me. Even after playing Nancy Drew games for years, I would rather not climb through an elevator shaft. Plus going to another world is would literally be a dream come true.

It’s scenes!!! And Riker and Leon!! ❤️
Aw, it’s beautiful! You definitely break these two before building them up, but I’m so excited for it!
I love the symbolic impact the violin has for Riker. And I love that last sentence in Leon’s story.
I would note for when you edit, that only making a statement once may not give the…[Read more]

Ok, Y’all. This topic has gone deep. XD Wow. That’s good though. We should really pull apart why we are writing what we are writing. I’m getting a fresh look at my own characters too.
There are many facets to what y’all are saying. I will say first off, that the reversal of the “da…[Read more]

Ah yes! I have not read manga, but I love seeing different characters’ points of view on the same or similar event. (One reason I like The Last Archer. The antagonist-to-friend plot looks completely different when seen through the eyes of the antagonist’s lacky. Not to mention being incredibly hilarious.)
Hmm.…[Read more]

Thanks! 🙂 It was fun to draw.
I can see how someone would feel that way. I’ve never had trouble keeping my mental images separate from movies. It must depend on the person lol.
That would be nice. XD It’s annoying to have different versions of characters competing for attention. I can usually keep them s…[Read more]

Here it is!
In which Aenwest gets lost inside her head, and dwarves need manners
Chapter 2
Travenor walked quickly. I scurried through the woods behind him, feeling remarkably like a squirrel trailing an elk. Sunlight streamed down through the leaves around me, creating a world of green and gold. Birds sang above us…[Read more]

Aaiii! Save us, it’s a film lover!
*Strangled gasp of horror*
Just kidding. I do understand that, and I have heard of some fantastic things they did with the adaptions, including splendid character interactions and even deviations from the books that actually made the plot more family friendly. Like cutting out the barrow…[Read more]

Gentle warriors for the win! I am now inspired to write better representations of gentleness, purpose, and grief. We need unique turns on these topics.
I think one of the reasons their story is cut is because it’s a story that speaks to more sensitive people. Aragorn looks cool on screen to everyone, and ev…

Hey y’all! I’ve been thinking about literary voice. I know every writer has a different voice, but what about using voice as a tool to set the scene? Like an extended form of dialogue?
This crazy thought spiral took me while reading some of Shalom Aleichem’s short stories (think Fiddler on the Roof). I was amused by the tongue in cheek humor of…[Read more]

Excactly! It’s so sweet, but not sugary sweet, you know? If it’s not in there, then half her character is left out (the real Eowyn, in fact) It’s a neat turn on illustrating healing and hope that really brings a lot of light into the story. 🙂
I think it’s my second time to read/listen to the Return of the King. I read the…[Read more]

Yes! We just listened to the chapter with him and Eowyn, and I just kept crying and laughing.
*Insert a five page essay on sorrow and love and joy and how they are not mutually exclusive*
*Insert random squeaking noises of happiness*
Yeah… Aragorn/Strider is one of the reasons Faramir is not my only favorite. 😉

Aw, thank you! 😁 It’s your favorite? O.O I feel like I was just handed a medal.
The photo quality kinda softened his face, but I still agree. He’s such a fun character. He’s almost as much a walking paradox as Aragorn. XD

Thank you! I’m glad you like it. 🙂 It was fun to try to draw from my head, although I ended up needing reference pictures for his eyes because he kept looking scared. XD And Faramir should not be scared.
Thank you! Yes, he is described in the book as Westernese: tall, raven-black haired, grey eyed, and noble of…[Read more]

@koshka @ellette-giselle @freed_and_redeemed
Well, it’s been a while since I shared any art, but the recent LotR discussions inspired to try my hand at one of the few characters I pictured vividly.
Meet the Ranger Faramir as I met him. (Although the photo quality is bad. Sorry.)

You draw horses so well! I lost my courage for horses a while ago. They’re so big! XD Anyway, Tug is beautiful.

I know!!! And it doesn’t make any sense why not, unless they just wanted to emphasize a smaller circle of awesome characters.
And if they wanted a sweet, visible romance, Faramir and Eowyn are so incredibly perfect. We just listened to that part last night and I was half laughing half crying. But maybe it’s a mercy because they…[Read more]

I’m running.
Running.
I can’t think now.
The world spins around me.
I run.
Is it behind me or in front? Am I running away for going home? Breath clawing in and out, tearing at my throat. One foot before the other and the earth slides away. Sliding, blurring. Away.
Feet too fast. I’m flying now. It hits me.
I fell. See stars, black and white…[Read more] -

Also….
Leon is oddly like Samwise.(Or at least, last I knew of him he was.) While their plotlines are pretty completely different, they have similar strength and weaknesses. Both react in anger when those love are threatened, and both struggle with hopelessness, unbelief, and selfishness. The difference is in direction. Leon lets his hurt and…[Read more]

Sounds like life lol, nice poem
Yeah, life can be rough sometimes. This year has felt like Micah 7:8 in more ways than one. XD I think this poem was kinda trauma processing for an accident I had a few months back. Glad you like it!
Oh, that’s a good bible verse. Sorry to hear about your accident! Are you ok now?
Eeek, I forgot the phone died before I sent in my response. Now it’s very late, but anyhoo,
I’m doing well. Basically, I met concrete and it was not polite. Thank the Lord, the only real injury was a broken bone in my hand. It’s almost normal now. 🙂
