what if she abdicates being queen? is she under 18? you could do where if they’re under 18 a lord protector can rule in the young monarch’s stead? This has happened in European countries with child monarchs…
idk if that is helpful or not…

ok cool!
yes… she’s part Silyan, and then she has Brennavaian, Elphin, Star-Eye, Phelanian, Bardan and Peluvaro in her bloodline too. she’s 5’4″, ash-blonde hair and eyes that shift colors and is a little tigress when you make her mad, which is a bad idea, since she has Bardan (griffin morpher) in her, and Peluvaro (owl…[Read more]

this is true about sadness; and a good reminder for not making writing too dramatic
And yeah it totally depends on the person! I have been starting to boycott making characters cry with sad things, usually I use things like them going tense, “eyes dulling”, “looking weary”, “jaw clenched”, etc… but I have those heartbroken scenes…[Read more]

okay cool!!
so in my novel I have this people group called the Silyans; they are all beautiful maidens, and they are immortal… UNLESS they marry or bind themselves in friendship with a mortal, and then when that spouse or friend dies, they die with them, no matter where they are.
They also have power over gems and precious…[Read more]

Yes, they are, a good death scene is really satisfying, and in the case of my book, the hero and heroine’s deaths wrapped up the climax really well. I like a good death scene better than a romantic scene to be honest.
Yes I have… though I am thinking of making the last three and my WIP into a sequel series, because it’s central…[Read more]

thanks! my family loves their good food, so it comes up naturally I guess lol

Yeah Viktur Oak is my favorite character in my WIP, even over Tyroll, who has a part in all previous nine…[Read more]

Hello! oh yes you can ask, I don’t mind
The characters who would likely be crying now/soon:
A young man with PTSD and he’s about to enter a war in a place he has been before and hates it because of a really hard past being under the evil rule of a dark lord who trained him as an assassin.
A girl who’s the ‘be tough’ type, and is…[Read more]

Hello again!
haha thank you! it’s a line from my first fantasy novel that the beloved Tyroll Rouronon says. He’s my readers’ favorite character, (is it pride to say he’s mine as well? XD)
I like the signature you have as well, it’s a powerful one that makes one stop and think… at least it does me. and thank you for the tips!…[Read more]

Hi! I have a fantasy WIP and I wanted some feedback on some of it if that’s okay…
Warning: I’m like how Gandalf described hobbits discussing family trees, when it comes to my world; “They can sit upon the edge of ruin and discuss family connections to the ninth degree…” something like that XD
What kind of Wip stuff can I post on this?…[Read more]

Yeah my friends call me a tragedy writer but they also say the reason they like my writing is because some of the good guys die and not just the bad guys, so I stick to my plot mwahahaha I is evil
Ohhhhh thanks!!! I haven’t tried thesaurus before, not sure why, I’ll totally try that! thanks!
I also use sob/sobbing a lot XD and whimper,…[Read more]

*sighs happily* Emotional scenes!!! I love them… 😛
So, a thesaurus is a great place to start when searching for verbs and phrases that describe emotion well (The thesaurus on my computer is my constant companion and regular helper. You might want to consider double-checking the meanings if you use a word from there though, just to…[Read more]

Hi, Lilly! Welcome to the forum! I’m Lydia. 😀
Ah, yes, J.R.R. Tolkien is the best! (In my humble opinion, he was one of the greatest novelists ever. 🙂) Love your signature and profile picture, by the way.
Here are a few questions for you, if you feel like answering them:
1) Who are your top three favorite authors?
2) What is your…[Read more]
