Man, everyones replies are way too relatable. XD
Well, if makes you feel any better, what you described is also a pretty accurate description of my brain.
Haha, yes, I totally relate to the “productive” procrastination. Like when I don’t feel like writing a scene so I just create character boards on Pinterest. You…[Read more]

What’s your biggest excuse for not writing? Why?
For me it’s sleep. I usually schedule my time for writing early in the morning before anyone is up, but sometimes I’m so slow to getting out of bed that by the time I’m dressed and ready, it’s way past time to write. Oops. I love writing and can make progress on a WIP even on my most uninspired…[Read more] -

It’s interesting to here a new opinion on Animal Farm. Though I haven’t read it myself, I mostly only hear positive things about it. But yeah, there’re definitely books that I can appreciate for what they are but still not enjoy.
What’s your favorite things about Pride and Prejudice?

Kathleen replied to the topic What Makes a Mystery? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 10 months ago
I definitely recommend reading the other three books. Each one is better than the previous.
I’ve been wanting  to read And Then There Were None for years now, but still have not got past the first couple chapters. I think it’s because I got a little overwhelmed with all the characters, but of course, if I just continued r…[Read more]

Whoa! These all look awesome! It’s inspiring me to make some story photo collages. It’ll be something to motivate me to get my homework done. XD

I’ve taken the test multiple times, but like @devastate-lasting I always get a different answer. My “personality” drastically changes depending on the day and my mood, and who I’m around. Sooo, yeah. XD But my favorite genres to write in are fantasy, contemporary, crime, and sometimes sci-fi.

You may now rest assured as mystery is now a sub-category under writing genres! Now looking at it there are still quite a few genres missing. So if there are any other genres that anybody wants, Â just let me know and I’ll get on that posthaste.
When I was little I loved to read the classic Nancy Drew books, and also the A-Z Mysteries…[Read more]

Hey! Welcome to the
coffee aficionadoKingdom Pen Forum!Have you read all 600 books you own? If so, that’s really impressive! I would like to say the same for myself, but I’m afraid my number is far below that. XD
What are some of your all-time favorite books?

I haven’t read The Maze Runner series, but I have heard long rants from my siblings about the trilogy. XD They are quite notorious in my household.

Not sure why, but that’s a little hard to believe.

But no, Sir Starkey, we folk at Kingdom Pen know how to disagree without tearing each other apart, you see. One of the finer attributes of the KeePers.
I have not read that series but I have heard much about it, and they weren’t very good things. XD Fun fact, my older sister and brother actually went to a book signing…[Read more]

@joy-caroline @devastate-lasting
I’ve been meaning to read Pride and Prejudice because it’s so popular and, you know, it’s a classic. But my sister has the same opinion as you guys about P&P, so I’m sorta reconsidering my decision to someday read that book. Maybe I’ll read it when I completely run out of books to read. XD
I did watch the movie…[Read more]

What is a popular book that you dislike? Why do you dislike it? What could have made it better?
For me, it would be Jane Eyre. I definitely don’t hate Jane Eyre and it’s certainly not the worst book I’ve read, but I also didn’t enjoy it either. Mainly because of the main love interest Mr. Rochester, who seriously creeped me out from the beginning…[Read more] -

Awesome idea! I’ve been thinking of doing something similar for my short stories, but with scrap booking instead of a box of things. So like having a page or pages in a scrapbook dedicated to each of the different short stories. It would have pages the color of the story’s mood, pictures that mirror the events and characters,…[Read more]

That’s great to know! Even though it’s a bit slow as of now, I still really like the atmosphere and the the set up. I’m looking forward to how the story plays out, and if any of the characters get any character development.

Today I read a couple more chapters of Spinning Silver and my initial enthusiasm has definitely dropped as the characters continue to be bland, (and sometimes outright mean), and the inciting event hasn’t happened yet even though I’m in the fifth chapter. So I’m getting a bit bored, but not to the point of quitting reading the…[Read more]

I made a Goodreads account when I was like, eight, but I haven’t been active on it for a few years now. But I have been thinking about getting back into it seeing how many people on the forum have a Goodreads account and it would be cool to connect over there! So I’ll get back to you with my username when I find my old account and…[Read more]
