@daeus, you have no idea how much I’ve wanted to talk about this book with another writer. I agree with what you said and it should have been a trilogy. The final book could have been named The Fiddler’s Grace or something along those lines. The main reason why I love The Fiddler’s Gun so much is the writing style, and if it is similar to your own…[Read more]

Alright, everyone, I’ve stumbled across a few amazing quotes during my reading. So I figured I should share them. Along with that, I want to hear what quotes everyone else has picked up too. (If you want you can quote song lyrics) Just use this topic to discuss and share them.
“Telling a story is like reaching into a granary full of wheat and…[Read more]

Yes. You pretty much have to read them both. How did you like it? @Daeus
@sarah-h, The violence is graphic and it starts the book off really strong. The book itself is clean, but it deals with some very heavy elements such as abortion, and there are some intense scenes about the Roman colosseum. It is definitely a book for older and mature…[Read more]

Has anyone read The Mark of the Lion by Francine Rivers or any Francine Rivers books? They are all absolutely fantastic.
The Fiddler’s Gun anyone? My favorite book hands down. My book review should be posted here pretty soon. But if anyone has read it. I want to discuss it!

*Comes in running* I HEARD THE WORDS RANGER’S APPRENTICE! I really enjoyed those books, I’ve actually been thinking about doing a book review on the series. @dragon-snapper, Welcome, welcome, you’ve stumbled into quite a strange place. But it seems we came be friends because *gasp* you don’t like Alyss. It’s okay @bluejay, we’ve got each other. :)…[Read more]

Christine Eaton replied to the topic OYAN considerations in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 8 months ago
@winter-rose about two years ago I did the One Year Adventure Novel and enjoyed it. Even if you think you know a lot about writing, the OYAN teaches a lot. I learned quite a bit from it even though writing adventure novels isn’t something I plan on really doing. It teaches you how to structure your novel, your storyline, and your character. Even…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Oh yes! I approve of your favorite books, I’m actually reading the Count of Monte Cristo right now and when I am finished (probably in a couple months or so) I’ll write a book review on it and try to get it published on here. I’m also really picky about which books I enjoy reading. They have to be REALLY good for me to like them if…[Read more]

Wow, so many great thoughts, I’m not really sure I have much to add. (I have already read the entire book so it’s pretty hard to narrow it down to just the first few chapters.)
I really like those question @spradlin. To answer one of them, if you do take away the political aspect of the book there really isn’t much there. I doubt it would stand on…[Read more] -

Oh, @vanna I like both what you wrote and your prompt.
Late Autumn had begun to set in and a cool breeze blew through the hills of the Shire. Frodo Baggins sat in his rocker and blew out the smoke in his pipe in the shape of O’s. The seventy-year-old Hobbit, realising that it was time for second breakfast, stood and entered through the green door…[Read more]

@gretald I’ve heard of TeenPact, probably from a few GenJ members. I helped with Pat Roberts campaign in Kansas and in Kentucky we weren’t going for a specific candidate and instead we tried to push the conservative voters to get out and vote.

@gretald It’s the teen group that is part of HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association). Basically, homeschool teenagers get involved in politics, help with campaigns for the Christian Conservatives running. That’s what the Student Action Teams are. I’ve been to Kentucky and Kansas doing that. And at the camps, you basically learn about how the…[Read more]

My theory is that @spradlin is a genie, you know the poofs of smoke when summoned and the unexplainable number of thumbs, I mean just look at the genie from Aladdin, he was able to do some pretty weird stuff 😛

Well, I have arrived *eats cookie then steals another* @daeus your virtual desserts are the best, you’ll have to give me a recipe 😉 Honestly, I don’t have much to say (although I had been reading through the entire post since the beginning) and I agree with what you are all saying. But I will say that the worst endings are the ones where pretty…[Read more]
