@catwing A spleen is worth about 500$. To get out of a straight jacket, you have to somehow get your arm over your head. (Don’t think I’m flexible enough to do that. Hopefully I won’t find myself in a straight jacket any time soon. 😛 ) Some fishermen in the 19th century claimed to have caught mermaids in their nets. And if you’re attacked by…[Read more]

Ok, guys. I really wanted to try this, and I think (hope) I will learn a lot of stuff from this. I hope you guys will help me by honestly critiquing this. What is here is my prologue and almost all of chapter 1. My writing is basically the same all the way through style wise, at least.
What I mostly want to know is:
1) Do I give enough…[Read more]

Part three: After the Storm
I opened my eyes eyes slowly, groaning as I sat up. Confused, I realized that I was on the floor. I rubbed the soreness off of my cheek. I noticed golden sun rays shining through the little gaps of the window shutters.…[Read more]

Its a lot of fun, because I can make up so much of it while still having guidelines. Â Like the people are really a mix of mongolian, russian, arab, and the tribes by the Caspian like the Rebu. Â @rochellaine @catwing

@ariel-ashira Oh, that sounds like a really cool story!
@catwing Ugh, I’ve had to change way too many scenes in my writing, and usually found it very annoying. 🙂
But I’m going to go now, so goodbye, and happy writing to both of you!

@catwing Hello! I’m here. Editing/writing my western.
How’s it going?

@catwing So that’s the nose-bopping character you were talking about! 😀 She’s just as annoying and just as funny as you predicted.
Wait a minute…did you mention Q in there? Or did I read it wrong? Is there another character named Q besides the one in Star Trek?
Let’s talk about this.
Hooray! I got to be a peacemaker instead of a thr…[Read more]

Oh, good. *sighs in relief* The Wiser isn’t dead. Thank you, @catwing! Or should I thank Kay? Or even the Wiser himself, for simply acting?
Anyway, this was great! As usual. 🙂

@catwing Oh, and this is actually the seventh part, so do you mind if I call it that on the Compendium? 🙂

Ben Powell replied to the topic A Catwing Christmas in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 7 months ago
@catwing Wow. Nice twist, having your own characters enter the Kingdom of Pen.
It was just supposed to be a fun Christmas present for everyone, but now it’s chaos.
Chaos, yes, but funny, unique, kapeefer-level chaos. 😉 That’s why it’s so fun.

@catwing Goodnight!
@seekjustice @jess-penrose I’m actually going to say goodbye now too. I don’t know if I’ll be back tonight, but probably not. So goodnight!

@jess-penrose 🙂
@catwing I have trouble with showing not telling as well, so much of my editing involves fixing it! You are not alone in this struggle!
@Rochellaine i don’t think we were supposed to, but Jess did and I liked my last line so I did too!
I hope your confusion lessens some time soon 🙂

@catwing Oh yay! I’ll happily look through it again! Hmm… It could be good. Have I mentioned anything about passive voice? And goodnight!
@rochellaine Hahaha, no clue. I just tend to whenever I war with my cousin. So, she may have invented that, or maybe she got it from somewhere else… but I always tend to do it anyway ‘cos it can be fun to read them.
