@seekjustice Okay, I’ll look it up sometime and let you know if I like it. 🙂
“Go Home with Bonnie Jean” is so much fun! I love bouncy Celtic style songs. Do you know any Scottish Gaelic songs? I know a couple, but I’m sure my pronunciation is horrible! 😛
You didn’t mean that Brigadoon was written by the same people who wrote Mary Po…[Read more]

@seekjustice Oh, it sounds cool. I’ll look it up.
Is it historically accurate? That’s the biggest problem I have when watching something “set in” a time period I like, rather than actually made/written in that period, as you know. 😉
This evening my brother gave me the Slipper and the Rose soundtrack LP. 😀 😀 😀 (Did I ever tell you I ha…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Aw, too bad! 🙁 See you later!
@seekjustice No I haven’t. What’s it about?

@seekjustice Oh, that’s awful. 🙁 I hope they get better.
It is highly fascinating. 😛
Well, I’ll be departing now. Goodnight!

@valtmy Well, it’s not really an opera, it’s an operetta, so the music might be a bit more bearable. Basically, an operetta has a lot more talking in between songs than an opera, so it’s more like a musical with fancier music than normal. And it’s a comic operetta so the songs are funny too. G&S are great writers. So you might be able to get…[Read more]

@valtmy Okay, well, I thought you might be interested in it. I don’t know what kind of music you like, and you might hate it because of that, (it’s an operetta) but the story is really funny. It’s set in old Japan, and the premise is that flirting has been made a capital crime, and anyone who flirts must be beheaded. Fortunately, in one sm…[Read more]

@valtmy Hey, same here! 🙂 I think I asked you a bit ago if you’d heard of The Mikado. You haven’t, right?
@seekjustice I’m doing okay, but am exhausted right now. 😉 I wanted to pop in and say hi, though, since it feels like a while since I talked to you people.
How are you?

@valtmy @seekjustice Hello, I’m here! 😀
I remember the two big epidemic scares that happened over the past few years. And I remember people talking about what you’re saying – that the world’s so interconnected it’s really hard to contain viruses now.
So…other than discussing the dangers of deadly diseases and their impact on your…[Read more]

@dekreel Oh, and your sentiments regarding Rime of the Ancient Mariner, (“well written and interesting, but bizarre and hard to understand”) are basically my thoughts on Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey. 😉 So I know exactly where you’re coming from. 😛

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #20 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 1 month ago
@dekreel I see. 🙂
My favorite book poem is The Courtship of Miles Standish. I haven’t read many, though. (Unless you count Shakespeare.)
I’ve got to go now. I hope to see you around again soon!

@dekreel Hello!
I’ve never fully read the Rime of the Ancient Mariner. The only part I know is the famous “Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink” line. (That is from there, isn’t it? 😮 ) Is it an interesting story?
Do you like long story-poems?

@seekjustice Congratulations! I’m sorry I was unable to let you know yesterday, but I was praying for you. I didn’t have my computer with me all day and couldn’t tell you so. (Got the email notification on my phone.) Anyway, I’m really glad you passed! 😀 😀

@dekreel What’s the essay topic?
😛 Yeah, I know. It’s not really strange that you know more about a given subject now than you did a while ago. I think what was funny was at the time I found it I’d just been having a long discussion about MBTI with you, so the difference was startling. 😉

@dekreel 🙂
Not a lot new. Everything’s still going pretty slowly. 😉 Are you writing something right now?
I recently came across an old post of yours that I find hilarious:

@seekjustice That’s actually pretty cool. 🙂
Yeah, that’s basically how it is in America too.
The House of the Seven Gables. Let’s see…okay, I’ve been trying to figure out how to explain the plot, and can’t, so I’ll just give you a link to the Wikipedia page and you can read it when you get the chance. 😉
Okay, I’ve answered a few of the…[Read more]

Apparently Benjamin Franklin thought the eagle would be a bad national bird because it attacks little birds and steals their food. He proposed the turkey, but I think that would be rather silly.
Forgive us. 😛 Americans are mocked everywhere, and by our own selves, for knowing little. There’s a joke I’ve heard which goes, “What…[Read more]

@seekjustice Yup, that’s the one. The space shuttle is really cool too. Here are a few pictures I took last time we went (sorry I’m not a great photographer 😉 ):
Haha. Bald eagles are cool, but even if you think they’re funny, just consider the fact that our national bird might have been the turkey. I think the bald eagle is much bet…[Read more]

@seekjustice Yes, it’s called the Air and Space Museum. That one is really cool!! I’ve been there several times. I think you’d like it a lot.
Oh yes, now I remember. I’ve heard them called pouches.
Haha. 😛 Are there any American animals that Australians think are cool? 😉
I’m liking The Secret Garden so far. 😀 What’s your favorite song from it?
