Hello Em! I like your profile pic.  You are the first teen I know (besides my siblings) who watches Doctor Who. I have seen quite a bit of Doctor who thanks to my dad and my brother.  My favorite Doctors are Matt Smith and David Tennant. I don’t know a single person my age that is a Whovian so I never get to quote or reference it to my friends (…[Read more]

  • “Truly you have a dizzying intellect. (Princess Bride)”

That is so true.  Your stories, plots, and creatures just blow my mind.  I can’t begin to understand them and they are really awesome!  Some of the concepts you’ve mentioned kind of remind me of Madeleine L’Engle.  Really deep, epic, and very much brain twisting.  I have one word for you:…[Read more]

  • Oh my goodness, That character is so CUTE!  I don’t know Dante yet but I know I like him a lot.  His snarky comment and witty expression reminds me of my sister (don’t tell XD).  So adorable!

  • Your welcome 🙂

Dragon biology is lots of fun!

I have my own theory for how Dragons “breath fire”.  There is a type of snake on earth that spits its venom instead of just biting and there is a type of beetle that can make its own explosions for self defense.  I don’t think Dragons technically “Breath” fire, I think its more like “spitting” f…[Read more]

  • It was a cool tangent lol.  Dragons are fun to draw. I like drawing mythical creatures because they give me the freedom to do whatever I want with them and not mess up.  If I’m drawing a monster or an alien I came make it look however I want.  So much scope for the imagination.

HI!!! I am so glad you finally got the chance to message me!  I really wanted to call you and tell you that I joined lol.  Ember the dragon has been attracting a lot of complements XD. everybody loves his majestic antlers

I’m so glad to be here! I hope we can chat more soon

  • So much of what I’m writing is unfinished or just started because I get bored of one thing or stuck after a while so I usually bounce around a bit and let out some other ideas in different projects.  I hope I will get some scenes finished enough to be able to post them soon.

  • Thanks a lot for the help.  In my mind I was thinking “Why didn’t I think of that” lol.  It’s so easy to get stuck on the little things sometimes.  That is why it is good to have other people see your work, they can give us a fresh perspective (excuse the pun) on the writing.  I have been alternating the 1st person narrator in each chapter, but…[Read more]

  • Lately I have been getting more into the biology of my dragons and thinking about the characteristics they would likely have based on where they live and eat.  I was inspired by the author/artist William O’Conner, who wrote about his dragons as if the were real animals that still live today.  He talked about how if you think about were your c…[Read more]

  • Thank you 🙂

My Minecraft character’s hair actually does cover one eye so that saved me from having to worry about symmetry (My arch nemesis XD).  I’m glad you like it.

  • I do a good amount of worldbuilding with my dragons since most of the time they are the main characters of my stories.  The appearance of my dragons tend to stick to classical concepts most of the time but I make each dragon unique and some of them are very different.  I really like to explore and play around with their personalities and b…[Read more]

  • That sounds like a really epic dystopian sci-fi story.  How dare you not tell me how it ends lol. Now I will just be suffering of curiosity.  Its definitly a book that would be a bit hard for me to read but it would be almost impossible to put down.

  • I am having a hard time transitioning from scenes of dialogue to action scenes and I am having trouble switching the perspective of the narrator (1st person, 2nd person, etc).  I can write good scenes of dialogue and good scenes of action but Its hard for me to connect the two smoothly.  If anyone has ideas that might help I would love to hear them!

  • Thanks! She is one of the first human characters I’ve drawn that is proportionately acurate (mostly).

  • I do not mind listening to people ranting about stories 😉 I like to do it too. I don’t get to talk about books that often because there are a lot of stories I like that my friends have never read

  • It’s really sad when I meet public-schoolers who say they don’t like to draw because they don’t think they are good at it.  I’ve met several kids who say they only draw or read books if it’s for school and they just don’t know what they’re missing.

  • This is a drawing I did of my Minecraft skin as it would look in real life.  It has nothing to do with my books but it is my most recent drawing of a human. What do you think?
