Do you have any favorite Historical Fiction books?
I like The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare, With Pipe, Paddle and Song by Elizabeth Yates, Across Five Aprils by Irene Hunt, and Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. I’m sure there are more, I just can’t think of them right now!
Okay…so…first off, I have a lot of WI…

hehe… I wanna spoil SOOO BAD. I won’t though. I can’t 😆 I’ll just have to write faster lol
Definitely write faster, LOL. That’s so hard to do! Sometimes it’s just there and it comes out, and other times *cough*
nowit just seems . . . gone. 😂@ava-blue @felicity @theloonyone @freedomwriter76

I love this! I like how the brothers interact with each other, it’s so much fun to read! And good job keeping them distinct with personalities and everything, that’s hard when you have a lot of characters! Keep it up, I want to read more!

So here is one of the first things I wrote. It’s called “The Adventure #2.” I don’t know what happened to “The Adventure #1” but it did exist. It was about my stuffed animals coming alive and going under my bed to see what was there. I had so many stuffed animals, LOL.…[Read more]

I know I’m late to the party but . . .
AHH THIS IS SO GOOD! Great job, girl!😊😊
The chapters did seem kinda short, but the writing is good! I agree with @mineralizedwritings , maybe Riker’s seeming a little too nice for so early in the book? And though he is feeling conflicted, maybe it’s not quite enough? He seems like a good…[Read more]

Arien replied to the topic I've started my draft, would you guys keep reading this story? in the forum Novel Critique Requests 1 year, 11 months ago
Ok so Lesli and Tauren live underground. I’m not sure how obvious that was, but the title of the series is currently “The west hills bunkers” which will definitely help the reader understand that. I might include dates in the finished version, If set in our world it would be around 3,401. Thanks for bringing that to my atten…

How did I miss this for so long!?!?!?!? *face-palms*
Sorry bout that!!!
You’re fine! 😊😊
Nice to meet you too! I also love music, especially the violin and singing. I’m not exactly a history person, but I do think it’s fascinating–especially the government aspect and how history relates to literature. I have to admit, I’ve never…[Read more]

So I finally got the chance to read through everything you’ve posted on here, and . . . WOW. Good job with the emotions! I can totally see this as a graphic novel!
I did have one question though . . . what kind of setting is this? Like, is it a type of fantasy, or historical fiction, or some kind of futuristic world? Or none…[Read more]

😲😲😲 what? whoa
LOL did I surprise you?
I honestly love this dynamic so much though! Aedan and Elinor being the children of a prince–which means that the king is their grandfather–and Prince Durwin is their uncle–makes it so exciting and fun to work with!

I like the Berets and Baguettes too, great job!
Unfortunately I do not have any art . . . I never really got into drawing. But I can try to brave myself to actually share some awful writing, if that’s okay . . .
Also how do you do emojis other than the kind you make on the keyboard? I’m so clueless LOL

This is all so great you guys! I like the cat ballerinas too. 🙂

I’m so sorry I didn’t respond until now . . .
But the scene from your book looks great! I haven’t really read any graphic novels, so I’m not very familiar with the genre, but I’m impressed! I can’t draw to save my life, especially people.
Not that I’ve ever worked on itLOLI like the way the flannel looks though! I love flannel. 🙂

Ooh, this is a really good start! I understood the setting, appearance, etc.
Thank you!
My one question is why the Dickensons were so cruel to them. Is it just because they are a burden they didn’t want?
I think part of it is that the Dickinsons are mean people to start with, but yeah, they didn’t want to have to care for two babies (…[Read more]

I agree, Boromir was originally a good guy, though he did get corrupted by the Ring. But he repents and dies a very noble death, in true tragic hero fashion. I haven’t seen the movies, but from what I understand they did do more on him, which is good, it just seems like they completely change Faramir’s character, and that makes me…[Read more]

Thank you, that helps a lot!
I especially liked the way you describe the characters bit by bit. The piece where the candlelight is illuminating Aedan’s face was an especially fine part to read. I love the way it formed his features in my mind.

Hello and nice to meet you!

Thank you, and thank your brother and sister too! It was great to get three opinions! (And I’m glad they were all positive, LOL!)
The twin dynamic is fun. As for personalities, I’m sort of getting that Aedan is resourceful, alert and protective of his sister.
Yay, I’m glad you liked it! And yes, that is Aedan. He’s kind of developed mo…[Read more]
