Swords, axes, large hammers, spears—hundreds of weapons lined the walls of the warrior training center, and photos of past warriors and their honor badges were framed and pinned. An air conditioner shook silently, blowing a cold breeze into the large conference room where two people sat. The first person was a man whose name was Emrys Gretchen, a…[Read more]

Overheard at dance: “He gave me really creepy vibes! And he poured his milk before his cereal!” “What? Only psychopaths do that!”

hehe my brother called his pacifier “Ash” for some reason? He didn’t literally name it, he just said the word that way for some reason lol
Lol. I called them “passies” and for a time they were named after my cousins.
My co-op notes were full of cute dinosaur characters giving their opinions on logic and Spanish.
I love that. I wish I lea…[Read more]

You know you’re a writer when hearing someone misuse “literally” makes you figuratively want to pull your hair out.
You know you’re a writer when you talk to a spatula. (His name is Bob, he’s 33, and he’s a vegetarian.)
You know you’re a writer when you kept your pacifiers until you were 8, not because you used them, but because they all had…[Read more]

Your Royal Immensely Benevolent Lowness, the Black Mongoose! May Your Tail Always Be Shiney! Indeed, it is most difficult to kiss something when one has a bill, instead of lips. I do thank thee for pardoning my ungraciousness in refusing to kiss thy paw. However, I do have certain standards of cleanliness, which a twice a month bath…[Read more]

Navin
He’d go adventure through the school and get eaten by a random creature which emerged from the darkness if it meant he didn’t have to sit through a class and possibly socialize with more people.
Navin shrugged, “I- I’d rather explore. W- where… where to?”
(Sorry, that wasn’t very long and probably sounds weird. For some…[Read more]

Goose sounds amazing!😂 Legos are so fun. I have a lego guy by the name of Christopher Cornelius who has a car that is basically a box on wheels covered in random pieces, including propellers, antennas, and flowers. His poor daughter is so embarrassed.
Dilapidated escargot!? *hands you the Nobel prize for weird insults* I may…[Read more]

That is such a good article! I especially love what she said about darkness and brokenness being so prevalent in fiction nowadays. I see this in teen contemporary books especially. The characters all have dysfunctional families, get drunk, are cruelly bullied, tragically lose family, etc. I want more Penderwick-type adventures, but with…[Read more]

XD XD Yeah
Happy emotional scenes aren’t as hard for me, because sometimes I’m just overjoyed for no real reason. Like the weather. XD.
Oh my goodness SAAMMMEEE! I become overjoyed over random things all the timeee!! 😂

I have been stalking this topic, trying to figure out why I write, and the best answer I could come up with is because I love it. (I know, so profound.) I love my characters, I love watching them interact, (especially when it’s awkward), I love how most of them insult each other, yet love each other very deeply. Most of them have s…[Read more]
