@keilah-h do you do a lot of fanfiction? I used to when I was a kid, but I haven’t gotten into it since. It seems fun though! I actually just started doing fanart this year 🙂I totally understand having a stereotypical character 🙂 I find that there are common threads between many of the characters I’ve created (especially in the protagonists and love interests lol)

@calidris Fanfiction is most of what I do. Honestly though, it’s mostly taking characters from my favorite stories and putting them in my own situations–sending them on quests, giving them pets and/or animal guardians, marrying them to OCs (that one happens more than you might think), giving them crazy awesome superpowers…….etc. etc.
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
@keilah-h it’s definitely fun to branch out! And I also understand wanting a character to marry an oc lol. Usually what happens is I find a character that I really like and I end up later making up a very similar oc lol, probably because I don’t feel comfortable with writing fanfiction (not that there’s anything wrong with it – it just feels weird for me writing in someone elses world). Sonetimes I lose interest in them, but often times they’ll end up changing into my own and ending up as very important parts of a story. Do you ever get stuck on a character? Idk if that’s the best way to put it, but for me there’s usually a character that I just really love above all others in the fandom lol. Like the kinds of characters you’d get merch for 🙂

@calidris I’m sorry I forgot to reply!! My battery died back when I tried to reply and then I forgot to come back XD Thank you!! She is underwater. It’s a sci-fi my cousin and I are writing with underwater colonies of people!

@calidris I don’t know about a in a fandom, but there’s a character in the stories I make up with my brother that I would create merch for–the hunterclone (a alien-animal sort of creature my brother came up with) named Stormcloud. He’s hilarious. He was sent to guard a World Controller (a creature who cane make use of our fantasy world’s “magic” system) named Feather, and he’s become sort of like her pet. I would totally buy a T-shirt with Feather and Stormcloud on it……Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
@keilah-h that’s really cool! It would be fun to have merch of your own character, but no one else would know who it is. For me, the fun thing about merch is when other people recognise it 🙂

Not often, no, but I’ll occasionally have an artistic impulse and draw something. This is a sketch of my favorite character from my fantasy series. 🙂
