@kathleenramm yours sounds great! the glassblower is a very cool idea and I’d totally give it a good grade if I was a teacher. Either way it sounds great!! The glassblower idea is amazing (sorry repeated myself lol)
@godlyfantasy12 I admit I laughed out loud but that is a hilarious and great idea XD maybe the older sibling could have bribed them…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Probably a weird one that I never finished where I had some of my characters in some strange situation… My extraterrestrial was doing math homework, my villain was playing baseball (more like hitting the foundation of the house with a baseball bat) and another was getting hyper off of chocolate covered raisins. And then there was…[Read more]

What’s the weirdest story you’ve ever wrote?
Probably the weirdest story I’ve every wrote was a short story I wrote as an assignment I did for a writing class. It was about a boy who was a glassblower, and he had a magical ability to blow molten into anything he wanted, not just glass objects.
But since he didn’t want the village folk to think…[Read more]

@ben-dykes Hi there, welcome to the Kingdom! I’m Linyang, though most call my Lin here. Lovely to have you!
My advice? Always check the recent topics tab, and comment on whatever recent threads you wish. Oh yeah, and when replying to people, copy and paste their tag from underneath their name on the left. It helps.
On that note, do you think…[Read more]

@maryg3 Whoa, I would totally read all of these! Especially the last one!
That meme is quite relatable, haha.
I like to write in the morning. I feel more productive then. *glances at the clock, realising it is late afternoon and hasn’t finished work*
What about you?

Cool! That’s a great Title!
Oh thank you!! You have no idea how MANY TIMES I have tried to write a synopsis for my book and I finally found just the right way to word it!! I’ve been working on this book for 3 years!😄 And if you are confused by the title I called it that because her father was an inventor and she was afraid to be known or have the…[Read more]

Hey Lin,
Thanks! Here are the titles of my WIP’s and a summary for each:
- The Inventor’s Daughter: Christian fiction
Emilia Taylor could never have imagined what adventures, trials, and truths awaited her in the country if her uncle hadn’t suddenly taken her from their city dwellings in London. For the first time, despite her amnesia, Emilia i…[Read more]

I agree with @gracie-j @devastate-lasting and @daisy-torres
As Lin said, I wouldn’t show my writing to most people at my church or people in general that are not my peers because my books are not for kids and the majority of adults would wonder what on earth I’ve been reading and watching to come up with such stuff. not that’s…[Read more]

Hey Daisy,
Oh, Wow! Good for you!
I illustrated my book by hand in watercolor and pen, took pictures of them, and then sent them to my publisher! It was painstaking to make them look clear and defined. I am not a hundred % happy with how it turned out, but it was a good experience to get a feel for the publishing industry.
I use to play the…[Read more]

@maryg3 Your WIPs all sound so interesting! I would love to hear more about them!
Hmm…what has driven my desire to write? Perhaps it’s to get the stories out of my head onto paper, or maybe because writing is like breathing, and I can’t live without. Maybe it’s after I realised that my writing could make others feel things, and I want to do…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 You’re looking at someone who, a) doesn’t write Christian fantasy, b) doesn’t think about themes.
Back in the day I thought I had to write a ton of Christian stuff into my stories, like a direct allegory, preaching, the Gospel, etc. I’ve since learned.
Y’know, when he started Narnia, Lewis actually didn’t intend to have it be…[Read more]

Hi Lin!
I am currently working on my second draft of a Christian fiction novel, while planning out two other novels for young adults. The first one is placed in the post-Depression era involving a time-travel adventure. And the second is a science fiction novel placed in the future.
Sorry, but I can’t stand pineapple on pizza. I had it once and…[Read more]
