@rochellaine @seekjustice I have only seen season one of Little House on the Prairie (which they don’t actually set on the prairie) and I agree it is awful. The other seasons sound even worse! Mud fight? Ugly blond hair? Yikes! In the books (which are awesome, and nothing like the movies) its not creepy or weird when she marries Alma…[Read more]

Jenna would rather forget who she is, have a perfect life and a terrible past, be portrayed as an animated character, and be loved by all.
Would your character rather have to be rescued from a tree by firefighters, or never be able to climb something again? Jenna would rather be rescued…

@rochellaine I could not agree with you more! That is what I was trying to say about the light and darkness. For a Christian writer, his stories have to much darkness with not enough light, or light of the right kind.

@warrenluther04 Welcome back!! Yeah, I’ll accept you back. AS LONG AS YOU STAY LOYAL! 😉
I think The Kingdom of Pen and the… what do you call that place… what, Embria? Emberland? Um… 😛 Anyway, I think the two should be separate, but still associated with each other. Like frenemies. Maybe. I don’t know.
I like the network of islands idea!

@rochellaine Josiah’s stories do have a lot of darkness with not much if any light to combat it. Some of them are a little too scary and maybe gory, like when they torture people. (I am kind of a wimp.) But I think his short stories explore human motivations, not instruct moral decisions. And they sure leave me thinking! I do like how his…[Read more]

Guys, I really can’t tell you how much KP means to me! *tears* It has brought light during one of the darkest times of my life. You are the best friends I have ever had! I couldn’t ask for better. Thank you God!
Which brings me to a prayer request. I have a friend I knew in Alaska, when we were both little. We were god friends then, but it…[Read more]

Ariel Ashira replied to the topic Pen Names in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 6 months ago
@jenwriter17 I have seen authors that do that. Or use their full first name, and then middle and last name letters (like: Esther M.W.).

Piggybacking on what @daughteroftheking said:
You know you are a writer when you wish there was a way to test if a knife or sword is actually stained red after someone stabs somebody… without hurting someone.

@jenwriter17 Personally, I am going to use my real name unless my parents forbid me to, which I don’t think they will. (They are pretty protective too, and felt more comfortable with me using a pen name here.) I guess I just like my real name as much as Ariel Ashira, and I want people to know me by it. My last name is different than most, so pe…[Read more]

@jenwriter17Â I suppose it depends on how much you want to protect your identity. Personally, I use a pen name because my real name isn’t common in the USA, so it would be easy to search for on the internet, therefore, more prone to people nosing about my personal information.
But I don’t know how rare your name is. *grins*
That’s all I got. 🙂
