I know it says “Topic of the Week” but it’s really more like “topic that i post once a week but, you know, reply whenever you want” but that title is a bit long so I stuck with the former title. XD

But anyway, pulling a prank on Damias for the soul reason that you’ve never had a “near-death experience before” is brilliant.…[Read more]

Oh wow, Congrats! I checked it out and the cover looks amazing!! So professional!

I’m totally going to buy it once I get back home where my credit card is.

    Again, congratulations!

  • @elfwing

It wasn’t too long at all! Your answers have made me see even more how wonderful writing can be. It’s pretty amazing all the things writing can do. I think writing stories is even more fun and healing than reading them.

    @daisy-torres

It’s pretty dope right? Being to write all the stories that you wish existed. I mean it’s not easy and…[Read more]

Ooo, I really like that answer. Sometimes it can be really hard to communicate verbally. And when you do, you rarely get past the shallow stuff. But with writing, you can cut out all that nonsense and get straight to the point. I think writing, whether that be in stories, poetry, or song lyrics, is one of the best forms of…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Deep question, deep question. As a kid my sister was the one who tried out writing first, and I said that I didn’t think I’d ever want to write, just read stories. Well, one day I grew bored of all the books I read, and decided to write my own.

And now I’m here and hoooooo boi I don’t know if I’m living a nightmare or the dream…[Read more]

  • Why do you write?
I started writing because my older siblings wrote a lot and I thought it looked fun, but the reason why I write now has evolved quite a lot from that.

Yeah, writing is still really fun, but writing has become so much more than that. Stories have helped me understand myself more, the world more, people more, and have helped me…[Read more]

    @mkfairygirl Thanks!! :DD

@devastate-lasting Lol, thanks. 😉 He’s pretty fun to draw. What with his grumpy burrito nature. ✨

@keilah-h Thank you!! Haha, yep. He’s super crabby XDD

@keilah-h LOL well, he is one. 😉

Yin & Yang is about two ordinary, unconnected teens – Yang Jinlong and Yin Meichen – that survive a devastating earthquake in Shanghai. Neither of them knows the other, and as it turns out, they’re the only survivors. Meichen, with no memory, and Jinlong, with memories intact but the worst temper you’ve ever…[Read more]

@keilah-h Thanks! He’s from a work titled Yin and Yang.

@calidris Aww, thanks! Haha, he’s my grumpy little burrito. Thank you! And ughhhhhh the struggle is sO REAL XDDD yeah, I tend to give glasses very vague outlines so as not to overpower the face.

One of my characters, Yang Jinlong! I’m pretty happy with the style.

@anatra23 Hey, idk if I ever asked you about this, but what’s your WIP about? I’m intrigued ;P

    • @scripter-of-kingdoms
Yk, I don’t think I’ve shared much abt it O-O
      Thank you for the interest.
My WIP is (so far) a three part book series about a world corrupted by confused and selfish people. These people have formed a civilization based around the concept of family separation to avoid any more wars inside the community, and around the planet.…[Read more]

      • I’m just reading though this now, and fsr it makes me laugh. It sounds just a little bit ridiculous on paper.
I have the first book in it’s fourth or third editing draft, so it’s nearly complete. The second book is in it’s second or third draft and the third is in it’s first, just past the idea stage.

        • Wow, no, this sounds AMAZING!!! I seriously think this is awesome!!! I love this plot. Can I know more about the characters????? I’m seriously intrigued now!!! And can I beta for you when it’s done (if you’re ok with that??) 😀

          • Sorry it took so long to respond.
Lol, if you won’t up and run at my writing style, you can read it anytime!
Have you done any character personalization charts? (Idk what they’re called officially.) Basically filling in a personality template for your OC.
Please, PLEASE don’t judge my character names too harshly, the main four characters were…[Read more]

            • Oh my word I’d love to read it!!! 😀 Yes, I have done character profiles, I looove doing them. 😛
Aw, haha, I’d never judge XD I think those names are great! I love the name Violet 🙂
Oh, I love the characters already. (And the story behind Jeremy’s name is so funny LOL) Their personalities sound amazing, it definitely sounds like you’ve spent a…[Read more]

I’ll send you a google docs then! (unless you’d prefer Word, which I have a copy on)
Either send me your email, or I’ll send you mine!
Lol, thank you for not judging my names. Also idk why I make nearly all my side characters more likeable than my protagonists, it just always ends up happening somehow XD

            • @anatra23 Sounds perfect (google docs would work better for me 😛) Haha, ofc. XD Yeah, same here! I’ve toooootally fallen in love with secondary characters multiple times. XD
I’ll send my email in a separate reply and then once you’ve seen it I’ll delete that reply if that’s ok with you. Just don’t want the whole wide internet knowing my email XD

@sparrowhawke Ah, yes, ATLA and the animal-mashing. (TURTLEDUCKSSS) Oh, cool! Those are some good tips, I’ll definitely keep that in mind. 🙂

YOOOO that’s seriously so cool. I’m very interested in the celestials, I absolutely LOVE seraph-esque creatures. Tell me more about them? 😀 And what’s the aether element all about? I’m super interested in…[Read more]

  • @kathleenramm They can be. Thank you! Yeah, I feel the same way. The ending would be a complete FLOP if that didn’t happen. But with that ending, it’s so much more heartbreaking… I think I might actually cry while writing that one XD

EXACTLY. It’s so true. This is the reason why I HATE the deux ex machina trope!!!!!! The author is like “okay,…[Read more]

This poem makes me think of a particular person in my life. Our relationship has been really complicated and recently some terrible things have happened causing me to only be able to have shallow conversations with them despite me knowing them my entire life. I have so many things I desperately want to ask them and tell them, but…[Read more]

Yeah, heavy themes can be really hard to write well.

But I do really like the ending of your story with the hero scarifying himself at the end. It makes the theme hit so much harder. I barely know anything about your story, but I can see how the theme and character arc might feel half-hearted without him sacrificing himself…[Read more]

Favorite time period? Hmmm… Probably the ancient time period. I definitely would never want to live in that time, but there are so many cool things to learn (and steal for writing purposes) from.

What’s something from history that’s given you a memorable story idea?

Well, I guess I usually come off as pretty quite, introverted,…[Read more]

That’s really interesting! I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that.

I’m not sure if you want any tips on ways to maybe help you be more critical of writing, but here’s some thoughts I had that might help.

Sometimes when I’m reading a book and want to use it as a way to improve my own writing, I keep a notebook with me as I read. On…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke Haha, yup. And knowing me, I’ll probably end up with ANOTHER trilogy in the mix at some point.

Thanks! I write mostly about faeries and humans, since those are the main two races in the book. But within the category of “faeries” there are elves, gnomes, dwarves, sprites, pixies, naiads, dryads, half-blood/hybrid faeries that are a…[Read more]
