That’s me with War Horse. The book was told from the horse’s perspective and was very confusing and somewhat uninteresting because the horse sometimes had horse limitation and sometimes could think like a person. But the movie was amazing because you can see everything the horse is seeing.
I do like some fantasy. But…[Read more]

@ellette-giselle @whalekeeper Uncharacteristically for me, I liked the movie better than the book
That and Mary Poppins are the only movies I liked better than the book

@whalekeeper   @calyhuge
I was interesting in Tale of Despareaux for the world building involving the government. I love tyrannical Government books, and my next story might have characters getting thrown into a pit if they don’t follow the rules. (just kidding…… maybe) but beyond that I didn’t really love the story. It was interesting th…[Read more]

I’m probably misunderstanding why you’re frustrated. Is it that both versions of Seb (new and old) feel wrong to write?
Maybe you could just treat him like a new character and play around a bit without worrying too much about getting him right? Idk

My characters have all had some level of personality shifts and/or complete backstory rewrites since I first put them in here. Especially my Inky characters. The magic system is changing almost by the hour lol. I think Dante is probably the only one who hasn’t changed.
So I won’t be bothered at all if you’re inconsistent. You don’t…[Read more]

What’s your reaction to the movie giving the jailor a happy ending when he died in the book?

🤣 Boring books!? Kate DiCamillo wrote the Mercy Watson series! They aren’t “boring”! 😂I will admit that I have seen several of Dicamillo’s book that caught my interest while browsing, but their descriptions seemed kinda pain filled, and I’m not particularly interested in more woe in my life.
Have you read Beverly, Right Here,…[Read more]

@whalekeeper I listened to Tale of Despareaux on audiobook a year and a half ago, but I’ve watched the movie a whole lot more

SHE WROTE FLORA AND ULYSSES?!!
I love that book, one of my favorites when I read it. Never read the other ones though. Have you read it and which of her books have you read?

The closest I ever did was one of my older brother and sister (not really, but I call them that) I wrote a romance and I used some of the things I saw in their relationship and I also used their physical descriptions and a few personality traits. It was there enough that Kirsten recognized it and was over the moon, but when she told…[Read more]

That is so cool!
I do that sometime, but it’s mostly with personality, though sometimes I keep physical character descriptions that fit.

Yes I can relate to the thankfulness of God’s mercy (no chance I deserve it)
It’s mostly in the brainstorming phase
Ooh cool
Yeah I think for me I had to take a complete step back in a way to show God I’m willing and because of that I think He was able to open my eyes to the in-person peopl…[Read more]

@theshadow let me know what he thinks!
@hybridlore @whalekeeper My brother wants to join, but so far they haven’t let him in or sent him an email or anything. (That second one might be because he never checks his emails though, lol)

I have mental health stuff, but I wouldn’t attribute all of it to oldest kid responsibilities. For me it’s a factor among other factors, not the cause.
Same. I think my OCD actually contributes a lot to me being bossier as an oldest child, because I like to have things a certain way.
Same. That, (and my obsession wit…

But I definitely can be very bossy at times.
Same. That, (and my obsession with ducks), is where my username came from. I order one of my siblings to do something, and my dad says, “The Ducktator has spoken.”😂 How many siblings do you have?
I have 3 sisters, 2 brothers.
I am not interested in a…
