Okay, I see what you mean. Eric was just teasing when he was being formal.
I’m envisioning a much larger cut. As I said, a “gash”And actually, depending on where the cut is, you can bleed out.Maybe not from something like that, though. That might be overdoing it. This is my first draft of this section. 😉

Overall, it was pretty good. Some of the dialogue towards the end felt a tiny bit clunky, though.
Very well,”” Eric sighed. “I shall bare the displays of emotion for tonight, but by tomorrow hugs will be limited to once a month.”
This is funny, but it sounds old-fashioned all of a sudden. Is Eric just teasing? Does he lapse i…[Read more]

So, now that I’m going with this version, do you have any overall thoughts about the section?

1. It gives the reader more hope in a happy ending.
2. It’s more interesting because you play on the past events of the book to make readers think Asher and Eric will die, but then defy the stereotype, keeping them on their toes.
3. It saves Asher and Eric. 🤗

No, you can’t just say that. Give me a literary reason why I should do this rather then the other one. Why is this better?

Please be honest as y’all read this, because saving the boys is going to be a HUGE change. However, I think it may be the right one, and some interesting things happened that makes me think so. However, I am still on the edge, a…[Read more]

Do you wait to figure out the psychology of the character during the writing, or do you graph that too?
Not exactly sure what you mean by that……..
(Sorry, I don’t really do technical names. I just do whatever I’m going to do. lol. If that makes sense.)

@whalekeeper XD I should have known.
He’s the only writing channel I’m subscribed to. He’s simultaneously hilarious and extremely helpful. I love it.
The 9 types videos he’s making are especially helpful.
Yessss. Those are the best. They’re really the only way I’ve been learning about the enneagram. When I first watched the type 7 video and i…[Read more]

I also forgot to mention that he’s a cardboard cutout right now: dry, without a personality, but with some sort of 2D substance I’ve inserted into him which goes along the lines of “you were a bad person, now you’re trying to change, good luck.”

So I’ve got a character who’s kind of a dog.
Lemme explain.
His name is Winston and he used to have a human form, except that he wasn’t the nicest guy and a sorceress came along and cursed him. So now he’s a dog. He can still talk and stuff, but he looks like a dog.
