Check out this sick box camera I found. Made in the 20s. I can see upside down images through the lens and there’s a flash when I flip the shutter. I want to find some film and try it out, although the inside is warped.

Is this POV yours? Real life local mysteries are unironically the best thing ever, unless they involve people getting hurt. I had a missing criminal hanging around my mailbox one time. Those things are the spice of life.
You should research what chemicals might change colors like that.

I don’t know how some of you people write romance novels. I have a new respect for y’all, because this is exhausting. Not bad, just exhausting.

That’s a lot, haha. I bet many of them are siblings to the protagonists.

I am also sorry if my previous comment came off as pushy. I was not frustrated at you at all, I was more curious than anything, and I really wanted to clarify what the conversation was about.

If you want to discuss the actual morality of rebellion, I am open to do so. I am curious to know why some Christians believe it is okay to rebel and overthrow governments.
But yeah, maybe it is best if I talk to someone older. I will see what Douglas Bond says in his books.
That was where I thought the conversation was going,…[Read more]

Ah, that makes sense. The problem of which country would have legal authority was the part that stumped me, and I figured Canada, which leads to nothing because I know nothing about Canada.

Really, I don’t mind if you don’t want to talk about it, I just thought you wanted to.

I understand what you’re saying about personal conviction. I believe God is still with you anyway.
I’m trying to respectfully discuss the conviction itself, since you have argued the rebellion in Ellette’s book is a problem. You challenged the morality. You already put morality on the table. Thus, I was under the assum…[Read more]

Is a POV blind spot bad?
Nah, not really. Depends on how you handle it. Females are 50% of the population and many of them must be firstborns. We know very little about them. It’s a world building thing, and you’ve had to choose where to spend your effort, so it’s not surprising you haven’t included them.
If you wanted to, all…[Read more]

Like right now I am dying over this short story draft. I can’t figure out the characters for the life of me; there’s an extra dimension I’m missing. Idk, maybe I’m expecting too much from only one week of writing them.

Reimagining and deepening backstories to the point of overwhelming yourself… relatable. XD I have a hard time limiting the scope, if that makes sense. My biggest strength is tying stuff together with characters, so the world could not be explored to the same depth with any other characters besides the protagonists. But sometimes it feels like t…[Read more]

whaley replied to the topic Rock music in the forum Mission, Calling & Ethics 8 months, 1 week ago
Yeah, it’s pretty cool!
And if you don’t enjoy rock, that’s fine. Sometimes certain genres bothers a person and they don’t know why. It’s just a fact of their life. Many country songs rub me off the wrong way, and I don’t know why. 🤷♀️
You might have to explain what that thing is though XD.
Synesthesia? That’s where a person has de…[Read more]

I do like how in this book, we’re getting to see the perspective of one of the soldiers.
True.
It is also true, I forgot. We only have one female character so far. Other than what I call “extras.” And she isn’t from the city, so we have a POV blind spot, so to speak.

And if you wanted to try a sidequest without getting too distracted, I highly recommend writing short stories! They clean your creative palette if you’re stuck.

Don’t worry about it. 🙂 One of my pet projects has been a thing since 2020, through all my teen years. It’s not that big of a deal.

My problem is that my brain loves creating complex backstories and plots and just developing and overthinking what I have so far XDXD I love exploring a story from every angle I possibly can, which, I think, is why I have a history of changing all my projects WAYYY too much without ever finishing a draft loll
Maybe I’ll try to write one…though…[Read more]
