Neat premise! I think it entirely depends on a ton of factors you haven’t told us. First, how old is Torrent? Nobody’s going to give a 12-16-year-old kid a bunch of backup for a rescue mission. (No offense to anyone in that age range; I’m 16 myself. I’m just sayin’ that you can’t put that in a book.) 17-18 is pushing it. On the other…[Read more]

Hey everyone! Keilah here. I’m currently worldbuilding on a dystopian/sci-fi/fantasy world, and I’d like your feedback on it!
The premise I have so far (for the first book anyway, I might make it a series):
Torrent Starcatcher has had a hard life.
She was born into a universe in turmoil; the violent dictator Indy has been in control since before…

@trahia-the-minstrel Ugh, I’ll have to repost it. And I’ll get a good Singeprime picture so you can see what they look like.
In the meantime, some facts about MandaloreWings, since you said you were curious: (I don’t have a good picture yet, sorry)
- They’re wyverns, meaning their wings are attached to their arms instead of coming out of their…

Regrettably I don’t have a younger sister to tell stories to, however, that sounds like a wonderful way to hone in your story telling/book writing skills.
I can basically quote The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as well. I have seen it way too many times!
Ooh. An eagle would be cool! Come to think of it, I should add a…[Read more]

@trahia-the-minstrel I have pictures of Singeprimes and MandaloreWings, but I’ll have to find them and upload them.
In the meantime, here’s a diagram of a typical dragonman skeleton:

Agh, yes, I am a big GE fan! I do love the characters you mentioned, but my all-time favorite character is Helmer. HE IS THE BEST!!!! (I’m a big fan of crusty-and-tough-on-the-outside-but-soft-and-sweet-on-the-inside type characters). My favorite lines are pretty much anything Helmer says, but e…[Read more]

@trahia-the-minstrel I know you already saw this one, but he’s the only Stewjon Four-Winged drawing I have, so…..

Facts about Stewjon Four-Wingeds:
- They’re rare. Much more so than other dragonmen kinds.
- They’re awesome. Pure awesome. I mean, four wings, gills and webbed talons, fire, catlike ears (which work just like cats’ or…

I’ll pray you’re not in the waiting stage for too long! I’ve heard that can be stressful 🙂
Those characters always make me smile. Ah, yes. Rebel Faeada XD

@trahia-the-minstrel You’re welcome. I love writing Star Wars fanfics, especially dragon ones! And a word on Wings of Fire–the later books aren’t as good as the first five. Those are the best.

Oh, I love building cultures and hearing what other people have made!
Let’s see… I don’t know the ú sound, it might be Hebrew (I’m not very far in).
Keivan Rus is basically the name of a federation of Slavs in the 9th to the mid 13th century. The part I mixed in is mostly from the older northern groups. They were a…[Read more]

Oh, oh, your names are lovely. Hebrew? My sister is learning Hebrew!
Your lines are great! I like Faeda, being short myself. And is Tyroll her older, or younger brother?

@trahia-the-minstrel I do the same! You’re one of the ones on my Dragon Lore topic, so you’ll see when I post multitudinous facts about half-man, half-dragon cultures.

@trahia-the-minstrel In answer to your question “who doesn’t love dragon people”…..My brother. He calls them “weirdos.” I don’t know why.

@elfwing @trahia-the-minstrel @elanor Thanks, all of you!
Cool facts about CloneWings:
- The spikes of a CloneWing aren’t detachable, unlike those of a similar dragon, the Rebelwhip. (If I can find a good picture of one of those I will!)
- The technical name for this type is the Mandalore Ice Dragon. But the name “CloneWing” caught on when the…

Ok, so now I can’t contain myself. @trahia-the-minstrel, did you say your desert country is Hebrew influenced? (Note gleeful chewing of lip) I’m learning Hebrew. Also, Eirtan is a mix of Celtic, Norse, Kieven Rus and mid-east/isreali culture, so I’m a tad unduly excited. (By the by, that particular letter you mentioned is my personal…[Read more]

Thanks for the pronunciation lesson 😀
Sadly, I have to say I don’t know much IPA… which makes it kinda hard to read English-to-Korean dictionaries. Yea… I should really learn.
Are you planning on publishing your book in the future?
