Cool! Did you create all the rules of this language before you created any words? I have found that it can be a bit annoying to have to fit all the words I have into the language, but it’s also nice to have some as a starting point.

What’s worse than starting with the words is also starting with the script. Those are both problems I had m…[Read more]

  • This is the Lasi’el script. It says: Lasi’el elasi vwij? Lasi’el elasi len. Meaning, Do you speak Lasi’el? I speak Lasi’el.

  • Lasi’el is my most developed conlang. It is spoken by the Shome’el. I originally created Lasi’el with the goal of creating a language out of entirely soft consonants to sound fluid and beautiful. I gave the exception of the glottal stop however, just to add a little exotic flavor, which is represented by the symbol ” ‘ “. (The glottal stop exists…[Read more]

100% I’ll have to start posting all my different conlangs on here!

  • @jonas

Yeah, that’s a good set up!

    Welcome to KP!

I’m the Arcane Axiom, I love math, searching for divine fundamental truth, and exploring that in my writing. I read/write sci-fi/fantasy, and am currently working on a universe with my sister called the Septrum.

    Questions:

I’m not very familiar with Patricia MacLachlan, so she’s a children’s author?

Part of me wants to say that this is a bit of an ambitious, and you just want to finish one complete story before setting up for a five book series, but I’m guilty of the same thing so…

I think this is a good set up though, very similar to Stormlight, but it allows some good mobility.

  • @jonas

Yes, I essentially believe that morality is a reflection of God’s character. A common question is whether God commands things because they are good (which would make morality something beyond God) or certain things are good because God commands them (which would make God’s commandments arbitrary.) I think that the two are intertwined, whi…

I would say that we can’t really comprehend “requirements” to be God. I think the requirements conform to who God is, but it’s not really possible to say, because a universe where God was different would be fundamentally different, and incomprehensible to us.

Fair enough. But you think that a universe where God was different is theoret…[Read more]

I think Descartes would argue that existing is not a necessary attribute of a perfect island. I’m not exactly sure why that would apply to the concept of a perfect entity, but not other things. I may not have explained it particularly well.

Well here’s the thing. A perfect island that does not exist is not perfect, since it would be bet…[Read more]

  • Here’s some more fun questions:

    • If you subscribe to immaterialism, then how does the immaterial influence the material?
    • If you subscribe to free will, then what does that actually mean?
    • If God knows everything, and part of that knowledge is that He knows everything, how does He actually know that’s not a lie?
    • Can God do evil? And if not,…

Yeah, it’s still effectively the same as Anselm’s.

Let’s see if the perfect island argument works on it:

I have the idea of a perfect entity in my mind.

    • The idea of a perfect island could not come from an imperfect being.
    • Therefore, the idea must come from the entity itself.
    • One of the attributes of a perfect island is that it…

Request for initiation granted. Please look at this photograph. *Forgets everything upon seeing the image

Welcome aboard Agent Whaley, you may be briefed on your future tasks above. After which, permission to depart on mission is granted.

  • @rae

    Is this what you meant?

Well done initiate. You have successfully catalogued a new Anomaly.

(It would be cool if we could do both new ideas and ideas from our own WIPs. I also wonder if it would be cool to turn into an RP where our different charries find the AT-C, and have to encounter the different Anomalies.)

Ah, I see some recent initiates need to be re-briefed. Your task is to find and catalogue any Anomalies you encounter (come up with/dream up). Agent Arcane has recently catalogued The Painter in our Archive. Follow his example. List any paranormal behavior you’ve noticed in the anomaly, we cannot miss anything.

    Good luck.

Ok, that makes more sense. I was gonna ask, what frame of reference does it stop in motion, so the infinite inertia idea does kinda help. I’ll still have to ponder on how that works on the temporal aspect though.

  • @jonas

Interesting! I love the high contrast magic systems. Giving me Star Wars vibes actually with the light side and dark side users, and grey Jedi. Question on the positive temporal pulse. What does it mean for the object to be frozen in time, and therefore unmovable?
