That does sound really interesting! Depending on when this will be going on, I might be able to participate, but I’m kind of busy this week so I dunno.

Okay, Arthurian fantasy definitely wins for me. I did not finish the Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights, but I came close (that means halfway) and I enjoyed it. Besides, I’ve kind of drawn off that sort of story for my current project in order to build my world in progress, and I really enjoy doing the research. Honestly I just…[Read more]

What is your answer to these questions? Also, if escargot is not the weirdest food you have tried, then what is?
I have not tried escargot, but I have made some pretty weird cakes. On a ketchup bottle was an advertisement for a ketchup cake recipe, and it looked pretty good, so I made it for my grandfather’s birthday. (Your…[Read more]

@theducktator @grcr @esther-c @anyone else really
So first of all…what happened was that each person in my class was supposed to choose a book to read which they had never read before, and then they were supposed to convince the class to read it using some form of persuasive language and stuff. I thought to myself, hey, I’m reading The…[Read more]

Oh my goodness I use AI lots, but only to generate text in the style of Shakespeare on the subject on “how to make a peanut butter sandwich”

It’s been nearly a month since we began to read The Screwtape Letters! Just a reminder to start thinking about what to say when we discuss it tomorrow and in the coming days. I can’t believe how fast time passes. Can anybody else relate when I say that time seemed to go slow…[Read more]

Hi! I’m Stephie, and we have a lot of construction too. It’s really annoying actually how every little bit of the summer months is consumed by closed roads and orange signs and whatnot…but anyway, it’s nice to meet you. 🙂
Your story sounds really good! I would love to read it someday.
Questions:
Have you ever tried to…[Read more]

Yes, the votes are in! It looks like literally EVERYONE voted for The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis.Â
We’re also going to have a month to read each book, with an exception for very long books or very short books.
I’m thinking the month should be from today or maybe to…[Read more]

Wyoh, you look like ChatGPT’s error notifications.
Another suggestion would be to try and write the worst first draft you could possibly write. That’s how my dad got more than 100% on a university level essay.

And also, don’t feel obligated to write in first person. Do what’s best for your story. And we might have too much fiction from that POV — just because it’s mainstream doesn’t mean you should necessarily do it.

I wouldn’t be much help in this situation because I’m struggling with the exact same thing.
I have been writing random “scenes” because I find them less boring than sitting down and writing the whole book in order. I guess I should start to plough through the first draft…but *whines* I don’t want to!
Anyhow, you’re not alone 🙂

Oooh that’s a hard one.
The problem is that we have no way of proving whether something outside of scripture is true or not unless overwhelmed with evidence.
