It’s the same in Star Wars. I can think of literally two characters who’ve had a fully happy ending.

Also, that scene is great. I think that the story is viable either way, honestly, so I can appreciate scenes like yours without thinking “Ugh, Marvel should never have done what they did, they should’ve taken a note from fanfic writers” like some things they’ve done lately.

I can relate to this more than I can say!!! and it’s so hard, I’ve tried talking to my small group about it but none of them are really writers and it’s just really hard

Yeah. It’s so hard because no one understands how hard it is being a writer unless they are one, and no one really understands what we’re going though!
