Don’t beat yourself up over it! I struggle to convey things a lot, too, and I also am not very familiar with publishing since I haven’t looked into that, so my lack of understanding in that area probably contributed to the confusion.
Right now I’m just barely holding all my emotions together with my WIP…I am really really unh…

I think you’ve got a good point there, too. While self-publishing is easier, and I would probably take that route if I was only intending for a smaller audience to read my book (say, family and friends who are taking more of an interest in it), I also want to know that my writing is good quality, and I don’t want…[Read more]

I think Savannah, you have a point that publishers are looking for marketable material. But Esther has a good point of view, that publishers are also looking for well-written material to a degree, because readers like good writing, and therefore good writing will sell. I’m not say…[Read more]

@esther-c @savannah_grace2009 Hey! I’m really interested in Abbie Emmons after seeing you guys mention her. I’m going to check out her channel, and maybe her book 100 days of sunlight. Have either of you read it?

I’m not really sure how you want your story to go…but I would really recommend developing your characters before any plotting! Figure out their character arcs and internal conflicts. (Abbie Emmons on YouTube really helped me learn why internal conflicts matter! But if you do watch her videos…prepare to be overwhelmed! XD thoug…

“That’s really nice to hear. We know a few people whose experiences are similar to ours, like Callista and her family. Except,” his gaze drifted over to her, “she’s had a much harder time of it than me. In fact,” he tilted his head, “I’m not sure how she does it. Wow. You (and your sister) are amazing at building worlds!
Thanks! As a disclaimer, this is by far my most unique world.
Yeah, characters definitely drive the plot forward, which is why it’s such a problem that most of them are underdeveloped. Those are good points about internal conflict too.
Anyway, you also said you d…

Oh my goodness so I just watched one of her videos on why she chose to indie publish her book, and she claimed she wasn’t bashing traditional publishing but… you can tell she’ll never traditionally publish any of her books. 🫤😂 And she was saying that some people will give their manuscript to a publishing company, get rejec…[Read more]

Anyway, you also said you don’t put Nedan in RP’s because he’s underdeveloped. I actually think the purpose of role plays is actually to develop your character. I have put many characters that aren’t developed in role plays and it helps me to hear their voice and learn more about them, just from writing them outside…

Ok, I know I already have too many WIP’s, but I had another idea I’ve been working on this week. I’ve been doing a crazy amount of research for this one and haven’t started any writing yet, which is a bit unusual for me because usually I start writing and research what I need to know as I go. (Probably not the best method, but that’s how I roll…[Read more]

This is a new topic for my Celestiar series set on Ildin. I don’t know how many books this will be, because I’ve only been working on the first one. Again, as with the Adonial Saga, “the Ildin Saga” is a working name, but not the final one.
I’m switching my attention from the Adonial Saga to this one. I have a couple reasons why. First of all,…[Read more]

I think that is awesome! I don’t have any theological problems with that. I tend to avoid doing robots and stuff, because I don’t believe that such a creation would have a soul, and I would usually rather avoid writing about those topics. I haven’t thought about how that would extend to a human created in a lab. There’s nothing biological about a…[Read more]

I don’t like to play with sentient and rational robots, honestly those creep me out. The idea of Alpha being originally a a robot made out of flesh came from me just thinking about him. I haven’t thought about it in depth, but from first glance, I don’t have a problem with it either. I guess it would depend also on how he was created. Did they take human DNA to create him? If that’s the case, then I think he would have a soul just like any other person, because the rest of us are created with human DNA, even though the process of…[Read more]

He was made from mixed DNA, to give him the traits Grathmere wanted. I believe most likely, he was made the weird 3D printer way at first, and developed from there.
He was actually interestingly enough, not made to have any moral compass. He was supposed to be a heartless assassin that did what Grathmere wished. He’d have limited free will, but…[Read more]

I think that’s a really good idea. I don’t find any theological issues with it. Er, I don’t really have any other comments ATM 😅

I like the idea! I think it makes sense that he would be without breath at first, and I think that God could definitely give him a soul if He chose
-
Ooh, ok. So I see where your doubts are coming from. Here’s my opinion…
I believe that as soon as a baby is conceived in the womb, he (referring to either gender in this case) is a human being with a soul that is loved by God. Obviously he cannot physically breathe yet because he’s only a few cells. But when he is born, God is ultimately the O…[Read more] -

I think this is a fun idea. I don’t think there’s any theological problems. Is this your fantasy, or something else? If the first, then I wouldn’t think theological and scientific problems should be your primary concern, because what you say goes. Even if your more into hard worldbuilding, you can build up a distinct theological system that is…[Read more]

@thearcaneaxiom Yeah, this is in my sci-fi/fantasy Galaxy. Alpha is one of my main charries.
-
-
I don’t think this is too weird an idea for a sci-fi universe. It’s basically like God put literal, actual life in a body which was built, not born. Like a machine built out of flesh and bone, it was working, but it wasn’t alive quite yet. I think the way he explains it is a little strange, but that’s an explanation and can be modified a bit.
-
My only issue is that if his heart was going but not his breathing, he would die pretty quickly, so maybe he was effectively “dead” with neither organ working, and when they tried to “jump-start” him, his heart started but not his lungs, and then when they were confusedly trying to figure it out he started breathing.
-
That was a weird explanation, sorry….
-
It makes sense…in fact that was the way I pictured it in my mind, just Alpha sometimes says things weirdly, and leaves out parts.
-
I believe the term for during but still coming back to life by revival is called “clinically dead”. Not sure if Alpha falls under this or not, though…
-
Ok, good, it made sense…lol

I looked out on the grassy plain where the seats were and took in the view. It was a really nice place.
“Imagine how much it cost to build this.” Paxton muttered, feeling a support beam for the stage ceiling.
“There’s someone!” Sam said, jumping off the giant stage and running up the sea…
