@seekjustice Cool! 🙂 Yeah, actually I interchange the words “dragon” and “dinosaur” in much the same way as you would “couch” and “sofa.” To me they’re the same thing, so that’s actually what I meant. The Bible mentions a fire breathing creature of the same size and physical characteristics of a dinosaur in a couple of different places, so…[Read more]

@ariel-ashira Whoops! I’ve been expecting this to happen since the topic started: two of us posted at the same time.
What do we do now? 🙂

“Here,” I whisper, “its behind this pile of stones in a sack.”
Akira nods and we start loosening the rocks sealing the stone’s hiding place. As the enemy creeps steadily closer, we finally break through the barrier. I grab the sack and peek inside to affirm it is still safe. The stone, no larger than my palm, glows a soft grey. I close the s…[Read more]

@ariel-ashira Praying for you!
And don’t worry about it not being about writing. People post prayer requests here all the time. I did, myself, a few days ago.

@sleepwalkingmk Oh, those are some good ones you’ve seen! 🙂 (I actually haven’t seen all of them yet. But I’ve seen at least clips of all of them.)
Maybe this will make you feel better about the old westerns:

(As I said before, I don’t like John Wayne either. 🙂 ) Gene Autry and Roy Rogers had a much cleaner style. I don’t remember whe…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Oh, did you cry too? I cried. Even though I’d read it before, and knew what would happen, I still cried. And if I read it again – and I probably will – I’ll cry again.

@sleepwalkingmk Thank you for agreeing with me! 😀 (I like it when people agree with me. [Is there anyone who doesn’t like it when people agree with them?] 🙂 )
*hands out white carnations* *weeps* I’m sorry, I’m busy today and won’t be able to attend your funeral. But I’m not convinced you actually died. Couldn’t you possibly be only mostly dead?

@sam-kowal Okay, let me back up. 😀 When I said Pilgrim’s Progress was the original fantasy work I didn’t necessarily mean it was the first fantasy work, since I haven’t researched the area of fantasy very extensively. I do consider it at least one of the first fantasy works, and perhaps the first major one.
The difference between it and …[Read more]

@sleepwalkingmk Oh, I didn’t notice where you said you’d “had bad experiences with some of them.” So I just thought I’d let you know that though I haven’t watched any recently made westerns, and the only modern romance ones I’ve seen are a couple badly made Hallmark movies, I can tell you for a fact that the sci-fi genre is a very different…[Read more]

I wrote this poem a long time ago, but since it’s just been sitting there, silent, and since several of you have said you like reading my poems because they’re entertaining, I thought I’d just let you read it for fun. 🙂 So here it is:
The Ballad of Private Poe
or One Young Man’s Trials and Tribulations for the Sake of His Relatives. In the…[Read more]

@sleepwalkingmk Hm. You said most genres, and then took out half of them! 😀 So, let’s see… without any romantic comedies, westerns, sci-fi, or mysteries, what is there left?
How about war movies, musicals, or…oh, I can’t think right now. 🙁 can you give me some other examples?

@dekreel That is so me. 🙁
(Except for the coffee, of course. And music, instead of Pinterest. 🙂 )

@sleepwalkingmk Oh yes! That discussion. 😀
Please someone say they agree with me about it! 🙂 Doesn’t the fact that Dekreel keeps protesting that she’s not a wolf seem to imply that she could be, but is trying to hide the fact? I mean, if she said it once, we’d all say “okay, sure, we won’t call you a wolf!” but she keeps bringing it up ag…[Read more]

@sleepwalkingmk Well, there are just as many genres of old movies as there are of new ones, so I first have to ask you: What genre are you looking for?
Because I could recommend dozens(and that’s a quite conservative estimate, 🙂 ) of old movies and TV shows in many different genres, so it’ll help to narrow it down. 😀
Yeah, it’s hard to tell…[Read more]

I’m so sorry, but I’ve been thinking and praying about this and have changed my mind. 🙁 I’m still not sure exactly what I believe is right so to be on the safe side I’d just like to stay as far away from trolls as possible. @seekjustice Oh, haha! 😀 My parents told me, I’m sure, the first time I watched it, which was before I can remember. It was years later that I read the book, but I had always known the movie characters were based on real people.
You should definitely read the book! Maria has a great sense of humor, and a great style of writing.
I’ve got to…[Read more]

@seekjustice If you like the story and the setting you really should read the book the real Maria Von Trapp wrote. It’s called The Story of the Trapp Family Singers and is very good. The story is quite different from the movie, but I was able to enjoy both without complaining that one was better than the other.
Have you heard of it? (She wr…[Read more]

@dekreel Only what my brother has showed me. He’ll edit out parts that he thinks I shouldn’t see/hear by switching screens or muting the sound. I watch the older stuff on my own.
He’s showed me things like Short Circuit, (AMAZING!) Galaxy Quest, (Star Trek: TOS spoof. Hilarious.) and E.T. (for some reason I wasn’t able to fall asleep after…[Read more]

The oldest brother of the seven gets married in the beginning, and his brothers decide they need wives too, but they don’t know how to woo the girls of the town since they’re rough backwoodsmen. Their big brother has been read…[Read more]
