I just finished the first draft of it! It was so. fun. and really gave me the boost I needed, cuz it is so satisfying and fulfilling to actually finish a story from start to finish!
I say “boost” in the encouragement sense, since physically I was up till 3 am writing in the pitch black, wondering whether it was ‘squeezing your eyes…[Read more] -

This is sorta random, so it goes in general, I guess.
As a precursor, I am… well, I’m not an American, but I am a North American, so I really don’t have much of a *realistic* view on British culture. Also, I am really sorry if I swear, I don’t mean to which is the entire point of this post.
I’m writing a fantasy where there are people who…[Read more]

I’m going to hop on this train and provide my own cringey outlining. After 23 chapters of good, detailed stuff, this happens.
Chapter 24:
POV: TBD
Topic: walking… mebbe
And that’s literally it.
If you think you suck, remember someone always sucks more. (My own version of it could always be worse.)
@daisy-torres actually decent stuff for a…[Read more]

Nice to meet you too!
Favs… LOTR: Gandalf, Hunger Games: Johanna, and Star Wars: Darth Vader… or maybe R2?
The first time I remember writing a story was when I was… idk, 6? To be clear tho, my writing habits were extremely sporadic until I turned 13 a few years ago. I don’t know if I even could…[Read more]

relia replied to the topic Keep going or jump ahead? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 5 months ago
I definitely feel an overwhelming urge to skip it, but I just keep pushing (often adding some dialogue to make it more fun for me), because I know it’ll only confuse me in the long run if random scenes in the middle are mysteriously missing.
This is totally different from editing a scene while I’m writing – in that case I have an extremely…[Read more]

1. Isbel – Weirdest mix of a huffy and haughty British Princess, and your demanding CEO. Has a thing for brandy and hates being outside. Practical as heck, but is also very concerned with presenting herself properly. 17, and ESTJ.

1. This plot twist sounds like it would completely shock the reader. That isn’t in itself a bad thing, but if it’s unexpected because it doesn’t fit into the story properly, that’s not good. You want to be able to reread the manuscript from the beginning, and with every chapter, sense “ok, yeah, I could include a bit of foreshadowing and this…[Read more]

Love les miserables – ofc the musical but the book is amazing. Can’t go wrong with Austen, and I love the Odyssey, Illiad… yeah I love a lot lol.

I’m from Canada, ehhhhh
I know that isn’t even how you use “eh” (what? we totally don’t cover “eh” in grammar class) but I feel it’s mandatory to stick it in there if you ever mention Canada. Yup, I’m from Ontario, where there be lots of trees, and I do see moose occasionally.
Ooh! But Australia is awesome.
Did I just reread your…[Read more] -
