I agree with @jada-mae that you need a little more information here. What is the goal of the story? Yes, she wants to, and gets to be, and army nurse, (probably don’t want to give away the part about her getting what she wants) but why must she destroy the contents of the mysterious safe? Why her? I think there needs to be more information…[Read more]

I suppose I could always try the balancing thing and just cut out the omniscient parts later if they don’t work out …

Ugh, I got a little writing done, but … I’m gum-stuck in the details.
I can’t decide whether to use a balance of Third Person Omniscient and Third Person Limited, (I mean having a sort of background narrator who puts in a little introduction at the beginnings of scenes/chapters, and who then defers to his characters’ own points of view sort…[Read more]

Hannah and I (she may have mentioned it already) have a theory also about Snoke being the reincarnation of The Emperor/Palpatine, who I loathe. Ugh, when he pushed Mace Windu out of that window and Anikin did nothing…
I don’t know how that would work, but it’s an idea. -

@dragon-snapper: You mentioned that Rey lived in an abandoned X-wing. However, I’m pretty sure it was an AT-AT (synonymous with an Imperial Walker, I think…). I didn’t catch the thing about the pilot doll, though! That’s cool!
Oh, and your theory about the little sister? Yes!!!!! I have actually wanted that to happen long before I got on…[Read more] -

I understand, @daeus . I’ve been pretty busy myself lately …
(Speaking of which, my apologies to anyone who may have tagged me in the last week or so. I’ll try and get back to you soon!)
I’ll probably write around then too, @dragon-snapper. You can tag me later if you need a pal. 🙂

I’m back! Sorry I’ve been so absent. It’s been a busy couple of weeks. Would any of you like to write with me? Fifteen to thirty minutes, your choice. 🙂

@Anna-Brie Ah, I should have guessed that. There’s only one first. 🙂 That is odd about the fireworks; over here, it’s the big cities that do it. I wonder if ours look different than yours. Lately, they’ve been coming out with shaped fireworks, like a heart or a smiley face. I don’t like them as much. Do you have that kind over there?

@julia-r That’s neat! My aunt is from Michigan, and she’s been wanting to take us to Mackinac Island for years. It sounds like a neat place.

Julia R. started the topic Need Ideas for Fantasy Names (countries, people, etc.) in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 8 months ago
I’m trying to write a book and can never think of a unique name for my country/kingdoms in my stories. Everything I think of either sounds like the name of a Lord of the Rings character or a planet from Star Wars. Does anyone have any tips, ideas, or useful websites?

@gretald: I decided to take your dare! Working on what started as a short story and will end up being halfway between a short story and a novel. I forget what you call that. A novella, maybe?

@anne-swiftblade: I love your profile picture! I love the Witch of Blackbird Pond as well! I haven’t been able to get my hands on To Kill a Mockingbird yet, but it has come highly recommended. Who wrote it?

@dancefree7: Hey, I heard you are a dancer, too! Seeing as you live in Mississippi, I assume you’ve heard of, seen, or attended Ballet Magnificat? I have several friends who have been to the Summer Dance Intensive and I would love to attend myself! I belong to a Christian dance company.

Hi Julia! I’m so sorry I haven’t replied to you; all my email notifications about comments were going to spam… AGGGHHH…. Haha; anyway, yes, I have attended the Summer Dance Intensive, and it is amazing! I highly recommend it. I see that you’re from Ohio; I didn’t meet anyone from Ohio while I was there, but in my counselor group there were…[Read more]
