I probably should not be as comforted by that as I am.
Published authors have probably felt the same about their stuff. If that’s not comforting, I don’t know what is. 😛
And I spelled it differently, so there. XD
Problem solved

What’s your favorite word biome so far?
I love collecting ideas from novels published between from the 1910s-50s. Mostly 40s and 50s. I keep notes from them in a notebook and I’ve done this for months; it’s a lot of fun. I often collect dialogue because there’s something very identifiable about fictional dialogue from that ti…[Read more]

This probably isn’t even a wolf-focused story, but I’ll guess The Wolf Wilder because I want you to look it up and read it. It’s so good.
This is precisely why I picked vague quotes. Need good book recommendations. XD
Hmm, looks like you got a few right. I shall refrain from sharing answers for a day in case someone finds this randomness.

Get ready for some random ideas
1. Pride and Prejudice (something tells me it’s from something else, but I might be right)
2. Sassy. Hmm. Is this the part in Fahrenheit 451 where Montag talks with Clarisse?
3. The only wolf story I can remember off the top of my head is The Wolf Wilder. This probably isn’t even a wolf-focused story,…[Read more]

This is a thing that I’ve run into elsewhere that was greatly appreciated by myself. If you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged.

Sniper
The creature moved much faster than we’d initially seen it move and swiped our weapons outta our hands with its front claws. Then it grabbed Rosalind and charged off with her.
Emmerich ran to chase it. I held him back. “Wait,” I growled. “You saw how fast that thing ran when he decided to attack us. You’ll never catch up with…[Read more]

Hey girl!! It’s good to see you around. :] And good to hear you’re doing well.
You finished it??
Congrats on hunkering down and finishing the draft!! That’s crazy… I can’t believe there’s a full version of your first book out there. You have to get on here when it’s done so I can read it.
You haven’t hurt November too much,…[Read more]

Huntress
“There is a creature,” Rosalind pointed to something lumbering through the trees.
“What is that?” I asked as it got closer. It was huge, and pale-colored, with long legs. It moved fairly slow, so it didn’t seem predatory….yet.
Sniper’s tail lashed and his talons tensed in anticipation, either of a fight or of a ter…[Read more]

Sniper
“That is impossible. You have never even heard of Earth? Where do you come from?”
“She’s from Lygon. Born on one of its moons.” I nodded to Huntress. “And I’m from Staten.”
They still didn’t seem to understand what that meant.
I lashed my tail. “Never mind. If I ‘ad to guess, you’…[Read more]

If I need a different language, I usually use some messed up version of Latin. because I already know basic Latin. Or I just make up words that sound like the essence I want to convey.
I may not create other languages, BUT I love collecting words, phrases, and names in English that belong in the world. The slang and vocabulary…[Read more]

@elishavet-pidyon Kinda in between? Like, the planet that it came from uses it for their naming system so they understand a lot of it, at least what was written down, but besides that most of the other worlds just think of the words as weird names.
not sure if that makes sense but ehhh

Keilah H. replied to the topic The Chat Chat in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 months, 2 weeks ago
@elishavet-pidyon I have one conlang, but it’s not an advanced language, just the remains of a long-extinct one. The characters use it as a naming system–two-syllable names consisting of the two one-syllable words in the old language that best describe the person.

Huntress
“Humans and animals are the only creatures we know of on our planet, aside from the spiritual creatures of our world.” Emmerich explained, after a garbled attempt to pronounce “Ornithiform” (giving up after two tries).
I decided not to ask what the spiritual creatures of their world were like. If they were anything like ours…[Read more]
