@theshadow ok here we go
Sniper
The two humans approached us, lookin’ lost.
Not that we weren’t kinda lost ourselves.
One of ‘em had his hand on a sword. I gripped my rifle tightly. He ‘ad a weapon, I ‘ad a weapon. We were on equal standin’ if ya didn’t factor in the fact that mine was ranged.
The female beside him didn’t appear to have a gun or a sword or anythin’, but she could easily ‘ave been hidin’ one in her clothing.
I decided to make myself seem more or less amiable to them, and gave them a tip of the hat as acknowledgment when they got close. “G’day there, you two. Are ya lost?”
The man stared at me as if he ‘ad never heard an Australian accent before.
Huntress spoke up from where she stood next to me. “He means to say that we’re kinda lost, too.”
I wouldn’t exactly ‘ave led with that, but it did apparently help ease their suspicion.
They still kept their eyes on my tail, though.
I flicked it back and forth. “What? Never seen an Argonite before?”

I think I’ll get into like the first like trap or trial? Should my charries run into yours at any point?
TINDER
She needed something to do with her hands. Something to build or take apart. As it was, the strange island had limited options. She settled for a handful of rocks, twigs and vines, sitting down to to lash them together while Korian scoped around the area. They’d left the beach, but so far hadn’t found anything more than trees, plants, and more trees. The tinkering proccess soothed her stress somewhat. It always helped, the feeling of something beneath her hands, shaping and constructing until the mess of materials became exactly what she needed. Or, at least close.
She held up the makeshift club as Korian wandered back over. “A weapon?” He guessed. “Looks brutal.”
Tinder nodded, giving him a sacchrine smile. “Yes, all the better to bludgeon you with in your sleep.” She didn’t let him know that it was less to do with self defense and more to help with her balance (they’d been walking for a long time, and with her wings injured it was even more of a strain than normal, her back muscles ached almost as much as her legs.) The weapon part was a bonus. While she was fully aware of the Captain’s skill with his blades, she’d rather have something close. As little as she had to rely on him, the better.
He folded his arms, eyebrows raised. “So violent.”
Her expression flattened, cheeks reddening. As if he was one to talk after all he had done to her, done to her people. “We should probably move,” she said curtly. Korian watched her for a moment before pushing on without a word. He set to work clearing more path with his scythe blades. Foliage fell before him in waves, making Tinder uneasy. If anyone else was around, they would track them easily, simply needing to follow his path of destruction.
Though they hadn’t run into anything, let alone anyone. It was strange. Not even the sound of birds. It was as if the island were dead.
No sooner had she thought it than a deep rumbling overtook the ground. Leaves rattled and fell, stones cracked. Korian shouted her name as a great fissure opened up before them, sucking the dirt from beneath them. With a cry, they fell into the depths.
(I’m thinking its prob gonna be some kind of maze they’ve fallen into, perchance with some… “friends” with claws.)

Rosalind
“You have a tail. Were you cursed? How can you be a human with animal characteristics?” Rosalind forced her eyes to the strange man’s face. “I am sorry, I believe I have just sounded rude. My name is Lady Rosalind, and this is Sir Emmerich. Neither of us have ever heard of an Argonite before.”
Emmerich nodded and turned to the woman, “We are lost as well, and do not know how we arrived here.” He noticed the stripes on the woman, but said nothing.
“He sure is a frog-walker, he heaves a big sigh
He only lacks wings for to be on the fly.”April 11, 2026 at 9:47 pm #211506Sniper
”You have a tail. Were you cursed?” the female asked.
I shook my head. “Nah. At least, I wasn’t. My ancestors could’ve been, a long, long time ago….but I was born this way.”
The male, who was introduced as Emmerich, turned to Huntress. “We are lost as well, and do not know how we arrived here.”
She chuckled. “Well, that makes four of us. Sniper and I have no idea how we got here either.” She pointed to me. “His name’s Mick, and mine’s Jaylen, but you can call us Sniper and Huntress if you’d like. They were our old callsigns, during a war we fought. We’re still kinda used to them.”
“So ya say you’ve never even heard of an Argonite, or anyone with a tail?” I raised one eyebrow. “What sort of planet were you on that ya didn’t ‘ave anyone besides humans, Changelings and maybe a couple Arcturans? I was under the impression my kind was a widespread race, to say nothin’ of Ornithiforms. Surely you ‘ad at least one or two Ailurids or perhaps a Drachenheul.”
Gerald handled that. You don’t question Gerald. (if you know you know)
April 11, 2026 at 9:48 pm #211507They’re gonna be like “um, the one planet we know of, what kind of planet were YOU on where people with tails are normal??”

Emmerich
“Nah. At least, I wasn’t. My ancestors could’ve been, a long, long time ago….but I was born this way.”
Rosalind glanced at Emmerich, completely confused.
“Sniper and I have no idea how we got here either. His name’s Mick,” The woman said, gesturing to the man with the tail. “And mine’s Jaylen, but you can call us Sniper and Huntress if you’d like. They were our old callsigns, during a war we fought. We’re still kinda used to them.”
“It is an honor to meet you both.” Emmerich said, shaking her hand and then Sniper’s.
“So ya say you’ve never even heardof an Argonite, or anyone with a tail? What sort of planet were you on that ya didn’t ‘ave anyone besides humans, Changelings and maybe a couple Arcturans? I was under the impression my kind was a widespread race, to say nothin’ of Ornithiforms. Surely you ‘ad at least one or two Ailurids or perhaps a Drachenheul.”
Emmerich stopped knowing what Sniper was talking about at the word ‘Arcturan.’ He and Rosalind exchanged looks.
“Forgive me. We do not know what an Arcturan or an Ornith-ornithe,” Emmerich stumbled over the word and stopped, ashamed as he realized his face felt slightly red. “We do not know what those creatures are. Humans and animals are the only creatures we know of on our planet, aside from the spiritual creatures of our world.”
“We come from Earth.” Rosalind added, “Our country is called Terre. Surely you have heard of it?”
“He sure is a frog-walker, he heaves a big sigh
He only lacks wings for to be on the fly.”April 12, 2026 at 5:29 pm #211509Huntress
“Humans and animals are the only creatures we know of on our planet, aside from the spiritual creatures of our world.” Emmerich explained, after a garbled attempt to pronounce “Ornithiform” (giving up after two tries).
I decided not to ask what the spiritual creatures of their world were like. If they were anything like ours we’d be here all day.
“We come from Earth. Our country is called Terre.” Rosalind added. “Surely you’ve heard of it?”
Sniper and I shared a look.
“Earth as in….the ground?” Sniper looked down and nudged at a rock with one toe claw. “That’s a boring name for a planet if I’ve ever heard one.”
I elbowed him. “Mick, that’s rude.”
“It’s true,” he protested.
I turned to the pair. “If his reaction didn’t make it clear….no, we’ve never heard of a place called Terre.”

“It’s true,” Sniper replied..
“If his reaction didn’t make it clear….no, we’ve never heard of a place called Terre.” Huntress said to Emmerich and Rosalind.
Rosalind shook her head, “That is impossible. You have never even heard of Earth? Where do you come from?”

Sniper
“That is impossible. You have never even heard of Earth? Where do you come from?”
“She’s from Lygon. Born on one of its moons.” I nodded to Huntress. “And I’m from Staten.”
They still didn’t seem to understand what that meant.
I lashed my tail. “Never mind. If I ‘ad to guess, you’re probably from another galaxy or somethin’. But what matters is that we’re ‘ere, now, and neither of us knows where here is. We’re gonna have to find shelter before nightfall.”

April 16, 2026 at 10:40 am #211531sorry for taking 3 days to do anything lol

April 16, 2026 at 6:47 pm #211534Lol, it’s okay, take as much time as you need.
Rosalind
Sniper and Huntress explained their birth planets, but Rosalind and Emmerich only became more confused. Sniper made the assertion that they were from different galaxies, then said, “But what matters is that we’re ‘ere, now, and neither of us knows where here is. We’re gonna have to find shelter before nightfall.”
“Yes, it appears we must explore this strange place.” Emmerich agreed. “We must proceed with caution though. We do not know what dangers may lurk here.”
The group walked from the sand onto solid grand, where a dense forest lay before them. Rosalind walked behind Emmerich, casting her gaze every now and again among the branches. Little light stabbed through the thick canopy of leaves above, darkening the forest around them.
On one occasion, one of Rosalind’s innocent glances caused her to stop. “Emmerich,” She whispered.
“Is something amiss?” Emmerich asked, pausing in his walk as Sniper and Huntress did the same.
“There is a creature.” Rosalind pointed, and the group looked to see a large, pale creature stalking through the trees. Apparently, it had sighted them as it was now lumbering closer.

“There is a creature,” Rosalind pointed to something lumbering through the trees.
“What is that?” I asked as it got closer. It was huge, and pale-colored, with long legs. It moved fairly slow, so it didn’t seem predatory….yet.
Sniper’s tail lashed and his talons tensed in anticipation, either of a fight or of a terrified charge by the creature when it saw us. Either way, we’d likely have to dodge it.
It stopped in front of us, its head moving around on a snakey neck as it tried to assess us the way we were assessing it.
Interesting.
(not sure if this is a dangerous creature or just one that’s minding its own business lol)
Gerald handled that. You don’t question Gerald. (if you know you know)
April 18, 2026 at 10:35 pm #211539Lol. I think I’m gonna go for dangerous.
Emmerich
Emmerich’s grip tightened on his sword’s handle. He moved in front of Rosalind, preparing for any attacks from the creature.
A moment passed in which the creature stared at the group and the group stared back at the creature. In the next moment, the creature moved with a speed its previous motions had not portrayed. It grabbed at Emmerich’s blade with one hand, swiping at Sniper and Huntress’ guns with the other. The weapons flew several feet from the astonished group and fell amongst the leaves littering the ground.
Before they had a moment to respond, the creature grabbed Rosalind and disappeared into the line of trees, Rosalind letting out a yell before her voice died off into the distance.

The creature moved much faster than we’d initially seen it move and swiped our weapons outta our hands with its front claws. Then it grabbed Rosalind and charged off with her.
Emmerich ran to chase it. I held him back. “Wait,” I growled. “You saw how fast that thing ran when he decided to attack us. You’ll never catch up with him, mate. We’ll find another way around and cut him off or somethin’.”
