My Book Feels Too Big (Also heeeey!)

Welp ummm….Hi? Lol! Feels like forever heh…how has everyone been? I’ve been good. Busy, but good. I’m getting on here because…well…I finished the draft of my first book (woohoo!) of my series I’ve been working on. I’m trying to work on draft 2…but it’s…a lot.

 

And I’m getting a bit (ok a lot) overwhelmed by everything…Mostly, I feel sometimes like this is so big…like the idea is bigger than me and I just wanna do it justice? Idk…but yea! So celebration for finishing the first draft…but AGGHHHH for everything else lol!

Congratulations on completing your draft! *Throws confetti* That is absolutely amazing! ✨🎉👏🏻 Have you celebrated ? Rewarded yourself?

Some questions… Is it the Destina project or a different one? I don’t want to asume lol. Also, second draft, is it an edited version or a second book? Just wondering if there would be ways to make the process less gargantuan.

(Just realized. If you’re in the area Friday, we might see each other, although I have a feeling we’re in very different sections… Still, if you’re attending a |-|yph3n meeting this week we should try to coordinate something. Wear a particular color or something. And it’s certainly ok if you’re not. It’s just ridiculously ironic to attend the same conferences without meeting )

Congrats on hunkering down and finishing the draft!! That’s crazy… I can’t believe there’s a full version of your first book out there. You have to get on here when it’s done so I can read it.

I’m doing good! Sunny weather has finally returned where I’m at, which I’m excited for. Project Radio is shaping up to be longer than expected. (Will it be a series? Who knows.) I have another, newer story that is coming along nicely.

Mostly, I feel sometimes like this is so big…like the idea is bigger than me and I just wanna do it justice?

If you ever want people to help brainstorm with you, sign me up. I can’t resist when someone has a brainstorming question. It’s fun to come up with ideas based on the information you have, and maybe come up with something the other person wouldn’t have imagined.

Being overwhelmed with your first draft seems to be normal. When I ask people how they feel after finishing one, they always say they’re overwhelmed.
