@epicaddie2 Hm, good question. I would say my three biggest questions are: *dramatic pause* How do I grip readers and hook them into the story? Are my characters flawed, human, and relatable enough? Where’s the chocolate? *ahem* I mean… How do I find my writing voice?
Hope that is helpful. 🙂 Wait, do you have a blog? *excited sidelong glance*

@bethanysinkyroses Ah, plotting, my sticking point for every story. 😉 This link is a list of key scenes in any plot. It helps me tremendously to go through the list and come up with ideas for what each scene will be in my story.…[Read more]

You know you’re a writer when the very presence of book is inspiring.

@catwing Meant to say that I really enjoyed that last installment. 😛 I like how you portrayed me as that overly-protective, bad-cop type of dragon.
Because that’s what I am. 😉 😀 Awesome.

NC Stokes replied to the topic PoV's in the forum Plotting 8 years, 5 months ago
@ashlyvye I was recently talking about POVs with my fellow writer friend (Hi, @princessfoo ! *waves*) and something she pointed out about multiple POVs is that one is often more interesting than the other. So, the question is, is Macx’s POV more interesting to readers than Haylie’s? Will they wish you would switch back to Haylie’s more often, or…[Read more]

@catwing A spleen is worth about 500$. To get out of a straight jacket, you have to somehow get your arm over your head. (Don’t think I’m flexible enough to do that. Hopefully I won’t find myself in a straight jacket any time soon. 😛 ) Some fishermen in the 19th century claimed to have caught mermaids in their nets. And if you’re attacked by…[Read more]

You know you’re a writer when you could easily win a game show where all the questions are morbid/obscure/weird.
How much would your spleen go for on the black market?

How do you escape a straight jacket?

@ingridrd The suspense! I’m so excited to read about this Jaclyn I’ve heard so much about. I really enjoyed it and would gladly keep reading. One thing, if you could add a little more about what she is feeling during the chapter, that’d be great. I can already get a good feel for the overall mood, which is excellent, (something I’m having trouble…[Read more]

Oh, good. *sighs in relief* The Wiser isn’t dead. Thank you, @catwing! Or should I thank Kay? Or even the Wiser himself, for simply acting?
Anyway, this was great! As usual. 🙂

I think the others have already given some very good responses so these are just my two cents:
#1: Think of other reasons for your bully to torment people apart from the cliche weakness, jealous or insecurity. For example, some usually nice people that I know unintentionally become bullies when a new person intrudes on the comfortable…[Read more]

Greetings, Kapeefers! I’m going to peak my head out of my hiatus for a second to ask some questions:
In my children’s books, I have a school bully, and lately I have been considering giving him a bigger part of my books. So my questions are: What are the motives of a bully? What are the literary cliches of a bully? And…[Read more]
