Basically, everything @whalekeeper said. XD
If someone walked into a room and shouted fire, I could say I believe them all I want to, but if I have faith in what they are saying, I will actually get out of the building.
What if you believe them, but the door jams and you can’t access a window? Sometimes baptism is not possible, and to say…[Read more]

The theif on the cross didn’t need to be baptized. Even in modern day, we don’t convict someone for things that where done before a law was passed.
I’m… prrreeEtty dArn certain Jesus’ words on that cross are still relevant today.
Jesus’ disciples taught, and we listen to them, but they were originally taught by Jesus. I trust in His cho…[Read more]

Sorry for butting in, just found the passage because I was discussing this same topic with a friend, and here it is. This is the ESV.
Luke 23:32-33. Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his…

Baptism is necessary if it is available. The thief on the cross was not baptized, and was yet saved. Miscarried children are unbaptized, and yet they are saved. So yes, to become a Christian, one should be baptized, but a believer who was unable to be baptized wouldn’t go to Hell. I don’t think God would send a devout believer to Hell…[Read more]

What if the name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit was Jesus?
The thing is, that argument can work either way, can’t it?
If the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit is Jesus, than wouldn’t baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit be baptizing in the name of Jesus?
If you did…[Read more]

What is the name of the Son? 😉
Jesus! Or if we want to be technical, we can go with the original ישוע (Yeshua).
The trinitarian formula comes from Jesus’ words in Matthew 28:18, when He tells the disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Some people (I don’t know if you’re one of them?) would say tha…[Read more]

Yeah, it’s super cool when the bible does that! Jesus quoted scripture all the time:

Jews placed a lot of emphasis on memorizing Torah and passing down traditions orally. They would have known a lot of passages off by heart.

*reads what I wrote last night*

Of course they told people they were wrong– that was necessary in order to preach the gospel. You can’t say “I’m right” without saying “you’re wrong” either indirectly or directly.
Thanks XD XD

Ah, good question.
Welp…I just spent half an hour reading the bible, especially Acts. And I have not found any mention of anybody specifically telling anyone that their religion is false or that their gods don’t exist. However, it does seem to be implied in certain places. For example, Acts 9:28-29
So he went in and out among them at…

Hmm, yes, I see your point. BUT this –> “I might have stolen off of a reddit page” show to me and my sagely sageness that your argument is invalid due to the factly fact that Reddit is not a source for the wisely wise.
What to you mean Reddit is nor a source for the wisely wise!??! That’s just what L.E.A.P. (League of Evil and Abnoxious Professors) want us to think! They want us to waste our weekend slaving over essays and not frolicking through forest, dancing among dandelions, and letting our brain atrophy while we stare fixedly at our phone screens!
Amazing things I have found out via Reddit
1) You can sneeze your back back into alinement.
2) You can survive a gunshot to the heart. (There where stats, and stats never lie. So, there is only a 95% chance you will die.)
3) Do your research before you choose a scuba diving excursion company.
Noooo, shower thoughts have been destroyed forever!
