R.M. Archer replied to the topic Anyone want to take a survey for an essay I'm writing? in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 days, 17 hours ago
I filled out the survey. As a technical note, you may want to change the question about average phone use—either to take text input rather than a number only, or to be more specific (e.g. “how many hours do you spend on your phone on average per day“)—so that your data is more clear. I input the daily average hours my phone has tracked and…[Read more]

R.M. Archer replied to the topic How do you world build? in the forum General Writing Discussions 1 week, 1 day ago
I love to discuss worldbuilding! How I approach the worldbuilding process depends on the world. I have three main worlds I revisit, so I have three main processes, which I laid out in a blog post a few years ago.
There are certain factors that overlap among all of my worlds:
- I always have some core framework in mind–whether that’s a timeline…

R.M. Archer replied to the topic Scrivener Questions in the forum General Writing Discussions 1 week, 1 day ago
I don’t know the answers to all of these questions simply because my experience doesn’t cover all of them, but I can say:
2. Yes. I actually keep my Scrivener files on an external drive so that I can easily switch between my desktop and laptop (both Windows computers), so I don’t need to move said files, but prior to that I did keep copies on…[Read more]

@elishavet-pidyon Thank you! I’m glad they were both helpful to you!
Aw, thanks! It’s good to be around! I can’t keep up much (it might help a little if I changed my KP email address so I get notifications to an email I check more regularly… though that wouldn’t help with the obstacle of busyness, lol), but I try to pop in when I have time and…[Read more]

We’ll see if KP lets me post the link or not, but I actually have a blog post all about how to approach the creation of allegorical/pseudo-allegorical religions!

Yay!!! You are alive! ngl was getting a little worried there lol.
Exactly… It definitely takes a few magical capabilities to be a forum moderator. 😅 Especially when the evil spam bots are constantly trying to take down precious Whaley. 😤Â Not on my watch!

Okay okay. I think I might have fixed the problem?
For some reason, the WordPress system was flagging everyone’s posts as spam. Especially dear Whaley. 😭😭😭
If you are still having trouble posting let me know. Also, I’m going to be on here a lot more frequently so I’ll be able to nip the problem in the bud before it ever gets too out of hand like…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic Why was my post marked as spam? in the forum Questions and Support 1 year, 5 months ago
Glad the post is now up!
I think it must’ve marked it as spam before because I edited it a few times?
That’s my best guess. The site tends to get a bit finicky when making edits. I’m not sure the exact cause of why this is, but I’ll be looking into it!

Kathleen replied to the topic Why was my post marked as spam? in the forum Questions and Support 1 year, 5 months ago
Thanks for letting me know about this issue! Spam marking is an automated program and unfortunately, it is quite faulty and unrightfully marks perfectly fine posts as spam. I’m currently looking into ways to make adjustments to this program so that it’s more accurate with its spam marking.
Have you been able to get your…[Read more]

@rae Hmm, I mean, my drafting title for this book was Past the Waves and the Firefly Lights, I don’t know if that’s any better, but I changed it to Jacobson’s once I established the name for the shop since I thought it might fit a bit better… Not sure though, heh.
I have a lot of writing posted on my website, actually. Which, not gonna lie, n…[Read more]
