Instrumentals. Scores and soundtracks from films and musicals mostly.
I usually watch romantic comedies and fusion sagueks. So Korean dramas like Princess Hours, Sungkyunkwan Scandal etc.

I’m making notes for characters in the KPA and I have some specific questions. If you don’t want to be in the KPA, you don’t have to answer these questions
For those of you who are new, I’m writing a story about us crazy people/creatures/aliens. It’s code named “KeePer Adventure,” or KPA
@waterlily Do you want to be a mermaid?
@skredder Do y…[Read more]

@mnvalentine It depends a bit on what you consider “action”. If action is battles and desperate plots, no novel actually needs those and you can bring them in at any point in your story. If action to you means confrontation, which I think is a good synonym, perhaps you do need the action to come in earlier, though it depends on how long your book…[Read more]

@mnvalentine Yes! please do, they are really good! I would especially recommend his Kingfountain books.
@rochellaine History is my favorite subject! I enjoy several different time periods/places; in particular the Irish potato famine, Egypt, the 1800s, and the trail of tears. What about you?

@waterlily Showing them in a “murkier” way might definitely help! I didn’t even think about changing the feel of it by taking advantage of the visual medium I’ll be using.
@livgiordano I think it is a good idea to have them shorter.. It would feel more natural 🙂 Love to hear your opinions on it from someone who enjoys it. Also glad that most…[Read more] -

@sam-kowal in this book, I have tried using Latin words. It’s pretty fun. and when I want something a bit different, I can use that! Or other other languages as well. It just depends.
@mnvalentine I love classical music, which I also love to play on the piano. That’s definitely the biggie, though I also love contemporary Christian.

@MNValentine If you think Les Miserables is basically the best book ever written, AND you have the dedication to read it a third time, you have my applause and respect. IT’S SO AMAZING. @mnvalentine 😀 That’s interesting
It does all make sense, because I have read some urban fantasy. It’s more…breezy, and simple, in language, I think. Not like some high fantasy, which delves deep into rich language and carefully described scenery. Maybe I’ll try urban sometime 😛

Alright, peoples, listen up. I have questions.
One of the reasons I’ve enjoyed writing in the sci-fi genre is that you don’t have to know much about fighting styles or weapons. It’s sci-fi, and no one expects you to be realistic the entire time, so you can just…make stuff up. Which I do. A lot.
But, in the days since my old sci-fi WIP k…[Read more]
