“Thorne, we came to talk.” Lyn called out, standing on her tiptoes, as if that would help her voice carry. A muffled reply proceeded from the back. She groaned, walking to the entrance of the other room and mot…

@kathleenramm Yes Tolkien was an amazing author! My inspiration for writing style is partly from him but less ‘fancy wording’ if you get what I mean XD simpler English.
Aww yes Colin is such a good character for a positive character arc. His character lie is big, isn’t it? I suppose he’s very relatable; he may be a brat to begin with and a…[Read more]

@joy-caroline well I’d suggest giving moments showing her praying and asking God to help her with forgiveness, and showing her conflict with her anger and her want to obey God’s will of forgiveness. Show her earnest desire to follow God’s word I suppose; show the moments of love she gives others when she has the chance, but then her unsurity of…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 ok sounds like a good plan! 🙂
btw it is fantasy and is not an allegory any more than Lord of the Rings is. I instead strongly incorporate lessons like loyalty, honesty, and forgiveness in my stories. It doesn’t have ‘magic’ as in wizards, and witches and such things if that gives you a better idea. Some of the evil people…[Read more]

Elfwing replied to the topic beta readers needed! in the forum Novel Critique Requests 3 years, 2 months ago
@goldyfantasy12 @keilah-h
It has no language or sexual content (that is something I’m very strict about). It’s adventures of a sister and brother and their journies growing up and crossing the lands. It doesn’t have gory violence, but there are many battles. It’s no more violent than the LoTR. I wrote it for teens.
There’s no strict deadline :)…[Read more]

Hi y’all!! so, I’m looking for beta readers, as betrayed by the title.
I’m not sure if you like fantasy or not, but if you do then this is a good opportunity for it!! I do not have a strict dead-line, but I’d love some feedback by the end of the year to see if I need to make any major changes…
I’m gonna tag some people, and since I don’t know…[Read more]

Kaunon has been into a lot of scrape and survived by the skin of his teeth, the scares are from fire battles and a nasty sand dragon that tried to eat him and when that didn’t work it tried to crush him 😂
here is the meeting of Alinnas parents
Gaol kept flying north, and after a few hours of steady flight, passed the m…

Ohhh I love Secret Garden, it’s a lovely book! I should read it again! Who’s your favourite character? I love the robin redbreast.
Children of Hurin is worth the read when you have time! for most people i know who have said that it’s intimidating it’s usually the writing style; it’s like reading an old history textbook for fun.…[Read more]

@scoutfinch180 Hi! Thanks for the input. I’ll see how I can improve it for sure! 🙂 I’m not really into emotional scenes of this kind but these two have a special relationship, so I wanted to add it. And this is the first draft which is why there may be repeating words, and thank you for mentioning that as I sometimes forget that kind of stuff X…[Read more]

I’ve listened through the Hobbit and LOTR several times in the last year in audiobook. The last book I actually held in my hands and read was Children of Hurin. Man, that is a…[Read more]
