@keilah-h Ye, the OG series is really good, but I didn’t like the other series.

@keilah-h I began fanfics for a whole slew of things, some of which were crossovers, most notably a Percy Jackson/Harry Potter/Hunger Games fanfic lol.

@kathleenramm I don’t have a least favorite book but there sure are some that I would like to rewrite. Especially the last book in the School For Good and Evil series by Somain Chainani. The first three I liked, the last three were a dumpster fire.
Before One True King came out my sister and I theorised about what was gonna happen and we thought…[Read more]

How would you rewrite your least favorite novel?
One of the least favorite books I’ve ever read is Dreamlander by K.M. Weiland. So, if I was rewriting it, the first thing I would change is the world. It makes such little sense that it actually makes me kinda angry. Which I know, it’s sound weird, but it’s true.
The premise that there are two…[Read more]

@elfwing “Mirabelle, you crazy?” I gave a small laugh. “We’re not going to catch it… They’ll see us if we go outside!”

Mirabelle stepped back and crossed her arms.
“Fine by me; you’d make a better first course for whatever is in there anyway.”
I grinned back at her and opened the kitchen door.

Eh? Rattling? I stood up, and crept towards the kitchen, Mirabelle right behind me.

The jenga tower collapsed and blocks tumbled across the coffee table and blasted me in the face (which had a very demoralized expression on it).
“What, I won? I WON!” My sister jumped up and pumped her fists in the air, acting like she wasn’t the one who had cheated.

So I thought it would be pretty fun to write and impromptu story together!
Basically how it’ll work is someone (in this case me) will write the first three sentence to a story and the person who replies back next will write the next three sentences to the story, and it’ll continue like that until we have a full blown story!
RULES:
1. Reply back…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic Why do you write? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years, 5 months ago
Those are wonderful reasons. Writing can be a way to glorify God and help others, while also strengthening and healing ourselves.
Have these two things always been your reason for writing, or did it become that later on?
That’s awesome! Do you and your cousin live close, or do you plan it out virtually?…[Read more]

I can definitely understand your dilemma lol XD I personally don’t usually like books with that many POV’s (just because it can be hard to keep them all straight in my head), but that’s just me. I would say that you’re definitely doing something right if you’ve realized that each of your major side characters have protagonist…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 Ok, cool, that makes things easier for you. For my current work I’ve had multiple POVs, like, a lot, and they’re mainly all main or secondary characters. For my last thing I tried to do one POV per chapter, switching in an orderly way, but for this one I’m doing whatever feels right. Your main characters would have more POV…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 Are you doing third or first person POV? With third you can do pretty much anything you want, with first it takes a lot of skill to pull off more than one POV, much less seven.

I know it says “Topic of the Week” but it’s really more like “topic that i post once a week but, you know, reply whenever you want” but that title is a bit long so I stuck with the former title. XD
But anyway, pulling a prank on Damias for the soul reason that you’ve never had a “near-death experience before” is brilliant.…[Read more]

It wasn’t too long at all! Your answers have made me see even more how wonderful writing can be. It’s pretty amazing all the things writing can do. I think writing stories is even more fun and healing than reading them.

Ooo, I really like that answer. Sometimes it can be really hard to communicate verbally. And when you do, you rarely get past the shallow stuff. But with writing, you can cut out all that nonsense and get straight to the point. I think writing, whether that be in stories, poetry, or song lyrics, is one of the best forms of…[Read more]
