@bethanysinkyroses Ah, plotting, my sticking point for every story. 😉 This link is a list of key scenes in any plot. It helps me tremendously to go through the list and come up with ideas for what each scene will be in my story.…[Read more]

Someday, unfortunately NOT someday soon, I want to start a blog. But basically the only reason I want to right now is because a bunch of you guys are also doing it, and I want to join the bandwagon. And because, well, who wouldn’t want a website where they talked about themselves a lot??
So I was wondering if there are other better, less…[Read more]

@daeus Ooh! Those sound interesting!
Have you ever heard of or seen the movie The Insanity of God? Your post reminded me of it. I would recommend it! but I don’t think it’s out yet… It’s about a couple of missionaries spreading the Gospel in the African Muslin country of Somalia. It’s really exciting and tugs your heart. 8 out of 10.

@mark-kamibaya Oh, yeah. You’re a Bob Jones guy. I didn’t see Grounded or Created and Redeemed, but my mom saw Created and Redeemed and told me it was really good.

Hi friends,
I just came back from The Christian Worldview Film Festival, if any of you have heard of that. Basically, all I did was watch Christian films for three days, so I thought I’d share my opinions on what I watched.
Feature films:
Altar Egos. This film has a tacked on theme and is not very moving, but it is super hilarious!
Like Arrows.…[Read more] -

As someone who is considering using Elemental powers in an upcoming book, I had to ask: what is the MOST ANNOYING thing you’ve seen done using Elementals? What is the coolest? That would really help me, thanks! @warrioroftherealm @mark-kamibaya @daeus

Ah yes. The famous re-introduction, which has now become customary for those bumbling henchmen who say hello, hang out in the forum for a bit, and disappear.
I’ve been a part of the KP forum for perhaps nine months. I absolutely love the site. But I vanished off the face of the kingdom about three months ago. I kept meaning to return, but…[Read more]

*crawls out of a hidden drain, dripping wet and covered in seaweed* SO… hey. It’s me. I actually don’t have a revolutionary writing concept to share today. Or advice to ask for. I’m starting this topic for a much more mundane reason.

So, I have an idea for a story, but I need a reason for this one aspect.
Why would a city be abandoned after a war. Like a huge city, with a population of a couple million. Why would it be abandoned, and why would it stay abandoned for 15+ years. Ideas? Brainstorm? Throw it at me.

What are some ways to separate two enemy countries at the border, yet have someone accidentally cross it (or go to war)? I thought about a wall, but that’s not really original.

@bethanysinkyroses that would be @sierra-r and I have forgotten Cindy’s as well. 😛
The first thing that strikes me as I read your summary here is that you’ve focused a lot on symbolism.
That’s a good thing. But it can also be a hindrance. In my experience, when I focus too much on the symbolism of a thing, it comes out one-dimensional as only…[Read more] -
