Lin started the topic What is going on anymore in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 2 months ago
Yo. So it’s been a while since I’ve been back on this forum, so I just wanted to ask. What’s going on. I haven’t received any newsletters, no new articles, stories, or question of the week… Who are all the new people. Do you guys want to introduce yourself to me or something. Any major events go on while I wasn’t here? Etc.
Heck, idk who to…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic New year, new WIP anyone? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 2 months ago
@mineralizedwritings I finished my last main work around December, so I’ve started another WIP, which I’m also going to be writing for a creative writing class I’m having this semester, so hopefully I’ll finish it before summer hits!

@sarafini I signed up, but idk how much time I’ll have since that’s when my semester starts, but I’ll try! What are you going to work on?

I’ve self-published a standalone short story, two short story collections, and a novel. I prefer self-publishing, personally, for the freedom it provides and for the opportunity to work with my own choice of collaborators (editors, artists, etc.), but I would like to try traditional publishing down the road as well for the sake of…[Read more]

I can’t figure out her tag. That’s frustrating. I’ll have to look into that.
But here’s a direct link to my post on her blog, as well, so you don’t have to scroll down and find it.

Oh, having reread North! Or Be Eaten I can say I enjoyed it much more this time around and I’m not sure why I didn’t like it as well the first time? It features a culture I enjoyed, more character development for Tink and Artham (a couple of my favorites), and several other fun additions (to the characters, world, and conflict). It’s still not as…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic Writing out of chronological order? in the forum Plotting 3 years, 5 months ago
@joy-caroline I usually write from beginning to end of a book unless there’s a pressing scene I wanna write, though those scenes aren’t necessarily in chronological order. It just gives me a better sense of progression than jumping around, though ofc you’re free to do whatever you want.

@ava-blue Hi! This is really random but how often do you draw fanart? lol I’d love to see some of the stuff you’ve already drawn cause your art is SO PRETTY! Do you post it anywhere? Instagram, etc.
Also, just wondering, have you read the False Prince?-
@lrose5 I’m afraid I don’t draw fanart as often as I use to, but I should! (so thanks for reminding me lol). I do have some old Picture of Dorian Gray fanart I wanna redraw. And thank you SO much! 🥰 I really appreciate that! I’ve been meaning to make an art blog on WordPress or something akin to that. It probably be named Moose Tracks or Ava…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic Does anyone else write sci-fi? in the forum Sci-Fi 3 years, 5 months ago
@microphage6032 It’s about a guy who’s brother becomes a serial killer so he goes out to find him, but the only problem is everyone thinks he’s his brother. A retelling of the prodigal son, Cain and Abel, etc. It’s set on a different planet and there’s some things here and there but otherwise not too many sci-fi elements in it.

Lin replied to the topic Writing AUs of your own stories in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 5 months ago
@ava-blue Yea, I have a cyberpunk AU for one, and school AUs for others, but I only really work on them when I’m super bored.

@microphage6032 Sounds a little like Cells at Work, heh. Right now I’m working on a sci-fi novel, though I wouldn’t necessarily call it full sci-fi or my main genre.
