@gh24682468999 So now I’m a bit conflicted, see. I swore to myself that I would never touch Nano again due to the length of the burnout that happened two years ago, but now I’ve gotten a new idea in my sleep that wouldn’t be that long and just about 50,000…
Though I might want to take my time with that. Also I don’t have a Nano…[Read more]

@princessmk Hello, and welcome to the forum! I’m Linyang, one of our…uh…I don’t have a title. Maybe I can have one one day.
Anyways, I find that dog in your profile picture super cute! Is it yours?
Ooh, I used to write poetry! I’m afraid I don’t have much creative juice left for that now…
I really like playing the piano! One of my…[Read more]

@gracie-j I think a lot of my problem is that I don’t have much of a life. XD So I don’t really have experience to draw from that would make for a compelling story. But I’m aiming to have this book center around mental health and theological disagreements, the former of which I have some experience with and the latter of which I have a lot of…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic NOT the protagonist. in the forum Characters 5 years, 10 months ago
@godlyfantasy12 The only series I can remember from Hyperion is Percy Jackson but I don’t think anyone important died in Book 2…
(And I don’t even get attached to secondary characters they’re more like third-tier or sixth-tier or something…ahhh)
To be honest if I start liking a character and they don’t die at some point then I start getting…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 I like a lot of different genres of music, haha.
Writing music? Falling Up has an album called “House Full of Caverns” that was made to be writing music, so I recommend that to anyone who sees this.
Oh yeah, give me some songs! I’d love to find new music.

@godlyfantasy12 As a person whose favorite characters in regular books is always that one really minor villain who gets killed off real fast, I can relate.
What I am about to say only applies true for my main series which I am working on. Not anything else.
See, I have so many characters for this one, and I switch POVs so many times, and the…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 Camreigh, a time traveler, would rather not travel at all. But Reve would want tot ravel to the past.
(And don’t worry about not knowing characters; no one knows mine and I know no one’s XD)
Would your character rather swim for 5 miles or run for 10 miles?

Lin replied to the topic Hola! in the forum Start HERE 5 years, 10 months ago
@godlyfantasy12 Ooh, art! I used to do that, but now I have no time…I’d love to get back into it though.
Listening to music is great! What are your favorite authors/songs?
McDonald’s Chocolate Chip Cookies? I did not know they sold those. I’ll have to keep an eye out for them. However, I enjoy Chicken McNuggets way too much for fast food.

Lin replied to the topic Would You Rather Character Edition in the forum Characters 5 years, 10 months ago
@gracie-j Most of my characters probably can’t swim very well, so… Those with water powers would choose the sea monster, those with dragon powers would choose the dragon, and those who have neither will choose based off of how well they can swim.
(Did my…did my previous post not post? What? Now I have to do this all over again…)
Okay.…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 Oh, I see. Unfortunately ideas aren’t copy-righted (as long as they’re super vague, like “a nobody boy gets chosen to save whole place from evil person”) but the specifics are yours.
So what do you like to do? Any hobbies (besides writing)?
@kathleenramm Cookies? Where?

Lin replied to the topic Hola! in the forum Start HERE 5 years, 10 months ago
@godlyfantasy12 Of course! We talk about our ideas all the time, and I don’t think anyone’s stolen anything yet. At least, I hope not. Most of us would be too busy with our own stuff to steal other ideas, anyway. Also, I think that you own the copyright to your books. At least, you should.
This place is really great as far as writing communities…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 Ey, welcome to the forum! I think we’re called…*mind goes blank*…uh…Kapeer? Um…I’m ashamed to not know this, but maybe someone can come along and tell me.
Ooh, large fantasy series! Just like me! I hope you tell us about it sometime!

@warrioroftherealm That’s pretty similar to my method! My cultures tend to be mashups of different real-world cultures and other unique details I want to include. Often I’ll center them around one or two core values, too, either from the get-go or as I develop them further.
My earlier worlds were heavily based on Medieval European tropes, since…[Read more]

Sooooo many. I have no fewer than 80 story ideas on my list. BUT, since I have to pick one… I read Love and the Sea and Everything in Between by Brian McBride a few months ago and loved the overall tone/feel of it. Between that and other aesthetic things I accumulated around the same time, I decided I really want to write a contemporary novel…[Read more]

So happy to think they’re creative! I hope if they do exist someday people will read them…

Lin replied to the topic Is there a character type (cliched or not) that you love… in the forum Characters 5 years, 10 months ago
@kathleenramm It involves two characters who are basically in a love square because they don’t realize each other’s secret identities. I’ve heard it’s quite amazing.

@gracie-j Since the time periods that I want to write don’t really have books (or the right type of books) for them, Wikipedia is my trusty friend. I will always rely on Wikipedia.
And I probably will go into historical fiction someday. Thanks for the encouragement; I don’t mind long paragraphs. I’ll just get through all these story ideas…[Read more]

@gracie-j Tate would go by drowning. It’s more aesthetic that way, though undoubtedly quite painful.
Also I think most of them would rather live at the beach, as they haven’t seen the ocean before.
Would your character rather edit your books for you or write your books for you?
