I would consider getting out a blank doc or piece of paper and writing what you know about the story on it. Sometimes it’s definitely hard to know where to go after scenes, and knowing the main goal of your story and what’s going to happen will help. Hmm, It’s hard to know when I don’t know the story, but I would say that right now all you need to focus on is getting draft 1 fully on paper. From there you can go back and make changes/rewrites/connect things/etc.

That’s my tip. Having the whole story there helps you see the big picture, and it’s much easier to work off of the…[Read more]

I also debated the ‘could actually kill you’ because could he actually? My sister said Rory would pop emotionally before killing anybody. (Not meaning he is weak, Ellette, just that he wouldn’t do it.)

So, before I ever begin to write I pray. I write down the idea in my prayer journal and say, “Lord, here’s my idea. If you want me to write this book, give me the rest of the story” and He does.

I’m struggling too right now. Just trying to make the time to write, and then when I do I find myself staring blankly at the page wondering why anything but my WIP will write bit not the WIP…

I’ve also only finished first drafts for short stories, not a novel yet. Which is something I’m hoping to change this year but life.
