@kathleenramm I’m actually quite similar to you, Kathleen. When I first started writing I learnt about theme and I was like, “Eh. I just want to write things that people will enjoy.” But now I want to write things that people will think about for a long time.

Hey there! You sound like a fascinating person! I’d love to hear more about your mechanical engineering and your woodworking? What sort of things do you make? I really want to get into leather working but I’ve never tried doing any sort of woodwork. and bookbinding obviously sounds awesome!

Who are some of your favourite authors?

@gracie-j I just downloaded LibreOffice, and am excited to try it out! I also downloaded Quoll Writer; it seems very close to a free alternative to Scrivener. Thanks for the suggestion!

Though, after thinking about this a while, I remember something a very smart teacher of mine said once. When asked how what he thought about swearing, he said that he usually considered about if this would hurt the person that he would say it in front of. I used Microsoft Word for years. I eventually stopped using it because, turns out, Word doesn’t like 100,000 plus words, which is fair. It’s still a great program and I use it for writing articles, short stories and essays.
