@joy-caroline When I posted the above I hadn’t refreshed the page yet. I’m relieved to find out I’m not the only one.

@kathleenramm Do I have to have…finished the book?
I remember starting the Penderwick Papers…I dunno if I ever finished it. Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, I started it right after reading Oliver Twist so I really couldn’t stomach all the rich people and parties and stuff like that…
Okay, as for one I actually read all the way through, I didn’t…[Read more]

@gracie-j Ah, well, I still use it… When I started listening to music I used this app called Netease Cloud Music, which is from China, and I still use it the most often to this day. There’s no ads, though most popular songs I’m not able to listen to in this country. Then the year before last I started using Spotify, and man, was it an…[Read more]

@gracie-j I have not yet made any playlists and I hate Spotify with a passion but let me see what I can whip up sometime!

@joy-caroline Coughing in old novels always meant tuberculosis. So if the character has any symptoms, that could help.
Also if he takes pills or needs injections or something you could also make someone accidentally open his bag once…and then the character can come and quickly take it away and say they’re for someone else or something. I…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic Where do you find motivation? in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 4 months ago
Hey there! I’m so sorry to hear that your story was rejected. That’s really hard to deal with. I remember my very first rejection and how crushing it was, and honestly how crushing every other rejection has been since then. Rejection isn’t ever easy, but unfortunately it’s just a part of how the writer’s life goes.
What keeps me…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic A Show For Creative Entrepreneurs in the forum Publishing & Platform 5 years, 4 months ago
@reaganramm I would be interested either way! There’s plenty of tips I could glean from a show dedicated to different types of creators, even though I’m not very creative apart from writing. But a show dedicated just to writing would also be immensely helpful!

Lin replied to the topic Character/Book Aesthetics in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 4 months ago
@gracie-j Ooh…nice idea! Unfortunately I’m not quite one to have many items that fit stories…I’ll probably just try to make story/character aesthetics instead. I haven’t made many before…I like the idea, though.

@gracie-j She was 19! Pretty crazy, right? But also gives us a lot of hope that maybe we too can write something just as good…

Yeah, that’s probably an idea. I really want to finish the trilogy this year so I’m rereading the first two so I can get a good idea. The original plot was a Scarlet Pimpernel retelling but the Scarlet Pimpernel is very different to the other two so the third book was coming off more as a standalone story and it just wasn’t working.…[Read more]

I also don’t really know that, but ending with the execution of a major character probably isn’t it 😀
Are you/were you planning to have a Pakistani wedding like your brother did?

SeekJustice replied to the topic Writers' Corner 01 in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 4 months ago
I think I was??? Maybe. I can’t remember now. I do like it the way it is though, I just don’t have any cohesive plot for the third book and this one doesn’t end in a duology ending sort of way.
That sounds so much fun! When are you planning on getting married? Are you able to have a big wedding or it only going to be small?

I’m just rereading my SFI sequel. I opened it randomly the other day and have been reading through it since. It’s better than I remembered 😛
Ooh that sounds so fun! I used to do that sort of thing a lot, unfortunately none of my youngest brothers are very into plays. I hope it works out well! Is it a musical?

I went the whole of NaNo without drinking coffee as well! I didn’t drink any caffeine at all, which I was quite proud of. And I haven’t actually had any (excepting a long road trip i had to make) since then either.
Aw lovely! I have two horses and a naughty shetland welsh cross 😀 What sort of horse do you have? and do you ride?

I would definitely study the “Dark Ages”. All around the world they were so interesting in different ways, but I couldn’t really narrow it down more than that. I just find that time period so fascinating.
Ah yes, seafaring adventures are so much fun! The novel I’m currently plotting is set in the Golden Age of Piracy (the historical…[Read more]
