@bluejay YES!!! We have snow. A lot of snow. Of course you can visit me…why don’t we just trade places for awhile? You get snow and I get warm weather. Deal? 😉
Hey, I do that to my ‘in’s’ all the time! My fingers can’t keep up with my brain! 🙂

@writefury Isn’t it amazing the temp difference in one state? We have some friends that live near Seattle and they tell us that it is quite pleasant there…40 degrees or so. It didn’t get any warmer than 10 degrees here today, but the sun was shining very bright and making the snow look like glitter. It was beautiful, despite the bitter cold that…[Read more]

Hi Tessa! Nice to meet you! Your story sounds very interesting. I am a sucker for anything that has to do with rescuing animals. 🙂
Oh my…it’s 86 degrees in Australia? Can I please come visit? 🙂 I am freezing my toes off here in Eastern Washington (State). It’s a balmy 5 degrees outside right now. BRRRRRR!!!
Glad to have you here on the forum!

@Daeus, about the links, I would imagine that the other platforms do the same thing that my Kindle does. Whenever I finish a book on my Kindle, the last page turn makes a pop-up appear and it says, “Before you go, rate this book/write a review.” I’ve never read on any other e-reader, and only recently got my Kindle, but I’d think that other…[Read more]

@Daeus Thanks for mentioning Vellum! I’d never heard about it before, but I’m always interested by Mac-only programs as they usually work better than Microsoft programs adapted for Mac. 😉
Let me just say that Vellum is AWESOME! I have been screwing around with it for the last two hours…seriously, I cannot believe how easy it is. The program…[Read more]

Thanks Kate! I was thinking that quotes might make it clearer, not only for the reader but for me! 🙂
Love your made up words, by the way. And the pun is awesome. 😉

I am trying to figure out the best way to include text conversations in one of my WIP’s. Book is in 3rd person. There are so many different ways that I’ve found to put texting conversations in books, but I can’t decide which is best/most clear.
Here are two snippets to show what I have done so far. (Very rough draft…please don’t judge.)…[Read more]

@Hope In regards to spoilers, it isn’t likely that I’ll remember them by the time you send me the book. 😉 I tend to forget little things unless they are connected to pictures or a bunch of words.
You can’t kill Sean!!!!!!!! He is too awesome to die!!!! Surely you can kill someone else in his place…please?!?! 🙂

Very nice, @Daeus. 🙂
No actually, that sounds pretty good, minus the second-to-last sentence. 😉 I like the idea of a curve ball being thrown at Anna in the form of changing/updating the Enigma. That would really make her need to think.
@Hope! You can’t kill Anna’s father! I will cry! Who is the other young rebel who dies? Not Sean, is it?

Thank you so much, Kate and Rolena. 🙂 I do try to keep my names pronounceable…mostly for my own sake. 😉 Rhett Newman is one of my absolute favorite names…and he’s my favorite male protagonist as of yet!

@Daeus In the beginning of the trilogy, Callie (age 14) problem solves in a speedy, impulsive way. She tends to act first, think later, but then seriously second-guess herself (even if she did the right thing) and think through every possible variation and how it would have “been better” if she had said something else or said it differently. As…[Read more]
