@mariposa A boy named Arlo wants to be an astronaut, and hes close to achieving his dream when plunged into the internal conflict of a deep sea, underwater culture. He has two supporting characters (for awhile muahaha) to help him on his journey.

@mariposa Cool! thanks for showing one of the pictures. It makes me want to start using colored pencil again. .
I’m also planning to do illustrations for my current writing project. Though I’ve only read like 3 of them, it’s going to be comic-style.

@mariposa You’re illustrating a trilogy? Is it like a picture book? Or more of a comic? Or a book with illustrations?? Please, tell me more! That’s so cool 😲😲😲😲😲

@emily I slightly struggled with this issue as well, but researching the three act structure/the heros journey helped me out, as introvert_girl sugjested. However, I think, consider this: Your story is about your character, right? You want your character to get from point A to point C.
Consider giving your character a character arc. Then for area…[Read more] -

@epicaddie2 But on a more realistic note, I believe that the real hero, is Jesus. So if I wanted to see what that looked like, we do always have a higher example of such. Of course in a book you would want to consider your protagonist the hero. After all, that’s what protagonists are for.. Just a thought.

@epicaddie2 A hero is someone who embraces truth and what’s right, no matter the cost.
but the dictionary tells me that:
1.a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character:
2.a person who, in the opinion of others, has special achievements, abilities, or personal qualities and is regarded as a role model or ideal: -
itisastarrynight replied to the topic How to (realistically) kill a dragon in the forum Plotting 6 years, 10 months ago
@gabbyj I haven’t given it much thought, but..
Dragons have wings, which means they mostly fly. So they are probably slower and less dangerous when they’re on foot and their flight is disabled. As for killing them..
Is it easier to be attacked if you went for the heart or the neck? Or poison always sounds legit, too, in whatever form it could be…[Read more] -

@supermonker42 That’s cool. I think he did do a fine job. It all felt very star wars-y while also focusing enough on the characters.

@abby1 Welcome! I just joined myself a couple of days ago. Very nice to meet you and we’re glad to have you here. If you take the mbti test I’d love to hear about it! I’ll spare you the explanation as dekreel and grace seems to have beat me to it :). Mine is INFJ. What types of books do you like to read? Is reading the only storytelling media you…[Read more]

@dekreel The first time I watched it I was disappointed. But after seeing it a second time, it was AWESOME! I still like The Force Awakens better, though. I think the main thing for me was (SPOILERS) that when Rey + Ben were confronted by snoke and vice versa, that scene was not only my favourite part, it was tense and climactic, all of Rey’s and…[Read more]

itisastarrynight replied to the topic My Favorite Music. What's Yours? in the forum Music 6 years, 11 months ago
I love the music from the game Abzu, composed by Austin Wintory. (The music he composed for Journey is amazing too, but I don’t listen to it much because it makes me emotional)
Owl city is awesome for me in general, but I love listening to his project Voyager 1, under Adam Young.
I also like listening to No Man’s Sky soundtrack.
