@ivy-rose In my story Princess Tess and the Perfect Story my narrator talks to Tess. She refers to Tess’s parent by the King and Queen. But if the narrator was talking to you as you read the book I would probably say something like this. “Then Tess’s parents looked out the window. I probably wouldn’t use their proper names. I don’t know if this in…[Read more]

@writefury I feel silly but I didn’t know there was a difference. 🙂 I think I’m doing 3rd person limited…I’m writing in Deep Point Of View if you are familiar with that.
(Totally off subject….I wanted to let you know that I will be at the Christian Heritage conference and I’d love to meet you! If you want to send me an email through my…[Read more] -

@daeus (I’ll tag you so you definitely see this) 😛 Please help! I wrote this poem very quickly, which is surprising for me, so I feel like it still needs work, but I’m not 100% sure where. Any suggestions are welcome. 😀
In a land far away,
Where the men were all bad,
They swore by God’s name,
And made Him so mad.He said, “I’ll destroy…[Read more]

So @writefury you’re from Washington? That’s awesome. I should start a topic called “where are you from in the USA?” I wonder if we would get one for each state? 😀 Have you got snow??? 😛

Is the 3rd person talking to the reader or the the MC? @ivy-rose

In a 3rd person story, how should the narrator address the MC’s parents? As Mr. and Mrs? As they would be to the MC…Mom and Dad? Or her mom and her dad?
If I’m not making sense (many apologies), I can provide some snippets.

@Daeus, when I first saw the title of this topic, the first thing that came into my mind was, “Not fast enough.” 🙂
In reality, I read pretty fast. My mom taught me to read at 3 and at age 5 I was reading Little House on the Prairie by myself. Though I’m not proud of this, I have a terribly short attention span and can’t sit still for long. I…[Read more]

Well for me, I read fast. Way too fast! I end up thinking I’ve read everything in the book and then I reread it and find a part that I didn’t know was in there. And then I read the book for the third time and find a completely new part that I managed to miss twice. It can get a bit creepy when I reread a book for the tenth (or hundredth) time and…[Read more]

@jadamae I started playing in the fall of 2005. I was seven years old. 🙂 My brother (then 5) and I started at the same time! After seven years of classical violin, we switched to bluegrass/country/old-time fiddle. We both find fiddling SO much more fun than classical. 🙂

Welcome, Faith! Happy to have you here!
I’m a violin player as well! Good for you picking up violin…it is not an easy instrument. Keep at it though! The ability to play an instrument is such a gift. I’ve been playing violin/fiddle for almost 11 years now (piano for 14), and though I wasn’t always excited or cooperative when it came to lessons,…[Read more]
