Mine were like that for a whole three months, but started working again all of a sudden.
@lightoverdarkness
Oh cool…I can kinda see it, but yeah I think yours is more detailed. Honestly I love your writing style better than Rick’s.

My notifs are fine. Are yours fixed yet?
Yeah, I’ve never read past the original series for that reason.
And I try really hard to moderate which books my siblings get from the online library, but sometimes I’ll find something on their list that’s like… eeeehhhhh… maybe let’s send that one back 😅 It’s gettin…[Read more]

I haven’t been on KP so this is a bit late sorry. So something you should be thinking about for one is do they even need to keep track of time? How relevant is exact time keeping to there experience? What would a culture be like if there was no modular concept of time?
Now, if you really just want to have some conception…[Read more]

You guys…when I checked my notifs for KP and read all your messages I almost started crying…It means so much to know that you are praying for me and are supporting me <3
Thanks girl <3
One of the problems is that for some reason, I’m just so scared to talk to my mom right now. I don’t know why,…[Read more]

@highscribeofaetherium They can count time by whatever happens to be in their sky. You said there’s a moon (or several moons), right? They can count time by that. In one story I had, a computerized “skygrid” was projected onto the sky and brightened/darkened to show the passing of time. Or something such as the tides can show time also, if there’s…[Read more]

I don’t know if this is scientifically accurate, but it sounds to me like the planet is super cold, so maybe they can determine the time by the temperature? Like how night is colder on Earth than during the day. The star is still not visible, but rotating on the axis still brings one side of the planet closer to heat than…[Read more]

I asked ChatGPT about orbiting a blackhole. These are the main difficulties according to it:

On the topic of time telling, since a blackhole would probably only block light from stars behind it, that would allow them to measure days, because the visibility of stars would fluctuate on a daily basis.

Okay. I have no idea whether a planet could safely orbit a blackhole.
These are the main technical difficulties I was thinking of:
- Planets are warmed by light from the star they orbit.
- Plants need light to photosynthesis, and animals need plants to eat. (You could replace all plants with fungi, which don’t need light…

So, it orbits a star so far away that they can’t even see it? And there are no other stars near enough to be seen? I’m not sure if it would even be possible for a planet to be orbiting a star that was far enough away that it couldn’t even be seen, but idk.
I have the same problem on Ildin, since people live underground. I…[Read more]

Oh, really? said Conviction sarcastically. Why would she think that?
Ellis was thinking the same thing but didn’t day it out loud.
“Well,” he said to Szabrin. “In my world, we have one too. Only half the time though. If it works the same here, it will probably set in a few hours.”

Ellis raised an eyebrow.
“What? You mean the sun?”
She had spoken of “darkness.” Did her world have no sun?

Ellis
Darkness? What was she talking about?
Conviction said they were in another realm. Was it possible that she was from yet another separate world.
“Well, as much as I would like to figure this out, I have some answers to find,” he said. “You can stay or follow. Just don’t get in the way.”
He started towards the palace again.

Okay. You can put those characters wherever you want. Nobody has interacted with Snake yet, but that doesn’t mean you have to.
You can go next in our group.

@highscribeofaetherium I see. Makes sense, since she doesn’t have to copy a whole mind for a non-sentient creature.
Hey, maybe that’s how they meet him–they see a dragon fly overhead, she tries to imitate him but can’t and realized he’s a sentient being, likely as lost as they are?
It’s not a great idea but I just wanted to throw it out there.

@highscribeofaetherium @jonas good with me for your two to get together first
@highscribe btw, one thing….I’d love to see Rin impersonate Snake someday lol
