Oh and @Mark-Kamibaya, are the Phillipines under the American government?

@Sarah-H Hm…intriguing…
@Mark-Kamibaya I might address several of your points, but I think Rolena’s right. I at least would rather not go into all of those on here, though if someone else takes you up I’ll be watching the conversation. 😉
For this one though I heard that Priebus is a Christian. Anyone have a take on that? —I also heard that…[Read more] -

But kids tend to do many things for very bad reasons. Like they want attention or they covet or they hate too much or love obsessively (don’t you love run on sentences?).
@Mark-Kamibaya Older people do that sometimes too, though. Messed up ones. 😛

@Sarah-H That’s just fine. 😀
Yup, we’ll be able to see for ourselves in awhile…that’ll be far more enlightening than anyone’s statements.Our favorite candidate was hugely Ted Cruz. I hope he’ll do better in 2020. 😉

@WarrioroftheRealm I make up tunes for poems and songs sometimes, but I don’t have much experience writing the lyrics myself. I’m sorry I can’t help you… 😛

@Sarah-H Oh dear, I didn’t know it was against the forum rules to debate politics. *hides face*
That’s all right though. I didn’t exactly want to argue about it, I just felt like saying something… *little shrug*
I hope you’ve thawed out from your camping trip. 😉

@Dragon-Snapper Oh, okay. Is there a key of some sort in the back of your copy, or are you learning it from the map?
@Ethryndal Yep, the books are better for the most part. I think there was a little less bad language in the movie though, for which I was happy. 😛

@Anne-of-Lothlorien Something I’ve noticed in books with little kids (and I can currently pull zero examples from my memory. 🙁 I know I’ve seen it somewhere.) is that they seem to be too stereotypically good. That might sound ridiculous, but what I mean is, they seem too wise, and too un-foolish, and too sweet and helpful. I know children are…[Read more]

@Anne-of-Lothlorien If I were reading it as a poem, I think cadence of several lines would need tweaking. But since you said not to read it as a poem, since it’s got a tune and so will fit differently (did you compose the tune yourself?), I like it. 🙂 Since I don’t know the tune, I can’t say whether any of those lines’ cadence ought to be changed…[Read more]

@Ethryndal Oh, which movie? The Anthony Andrews one? That’s the only one I’ve seen, and I love it, though it’s not really accurate. 😛 Keep reading the books.

That, my dear @Anne-of-Lothlorien , is equivocation on the word ‘head’. *points stern finger at you* I meant my literal head. 😀 Yesyesyesyesyes I know that’s beside the point. 😛 I have most certainly already lost it.
*trembling mouth* Y-you wanted to do…something t-terrible to Tolkien??! Oh…DEAR. This is most saddening. 😛

@Anne-of-Lothlorien @Ethryndal The Scarlet Pimpernel!! You both officially have incredible taste for that. How many of the books have you read? I haven’t read all of them, but I seriously want to and I loved most of those I have read. Have you at least read the original Scarlet Pimpernel, The Elusive Pimpernel, and Eldorado? Which is your favorite?

@Aratrea Yes, Thomas Hardy. It’s definitely not a happy movie, but the theme comes across very strongly. I heard most of Thomas Hardy’s novels are tragedies. 😛
